  • anyone ever wondered just how much cheaper Tesco could sell everything in their stores, if they didn't offer clubcard vouchers?

then we would all save £££'s on our weekly grocery shop, and be able to afford to pay for our own holidays.....

    ...just a thought ;)

We pay about £110 for our weekly shop in Asda and £150 in Tesco. I reckon if we Aldied/Lidled/Nettod our shop it would be £85.

We do. We shop in Asda now. Lidl/Netto/Aldi are fine but you can't do a full shop there. We treat our local Tesco as a convenience store for ocassional top-ups whereas we used to shop there all the time.

I do not use Tesco like I used to either, I used to spend £500+ a month on food plus all my financials, now I'll go if I have a petrol voucher or CC vouchers from a mail out. I usually do my one monthly shop and the odd top up there but if I can get organised I'll be using Asda this month. I find the Asda website a PITA to navigate but Tesco I am used too and convenience just makes it easier - I've had an email today to say their website is changing so fingers crossed it'll all be for the best.

I wish I'd read this before I converted my cc tokens, just got £460 of John Fowler coupons in the post yesterday. I didn't think I'd get the online price but did think I'd get the reduced price. If it's the full price I don't want to go, £754 (less £460) for their cheapest (nastiest) accomodation first week in July. Does anyone know if I can send them back to tesco?

once clubcard vouchers are converted into deals, they can be used against any deal, not just the one you originally were planning on using them for. The only deal you cant use them against, are ones that are pay in full (ie merlin passes, and tussaurds group day entry)

I rarely shop at Tesco, apart from the odd electrical from Tesco direct (if they are the cheapest). I have a Tesco credit card which gains points plus Eon give me clubcard points on my monthly energy payments.

I used to have a cashback credit card which was quite good - earning me a couple of hundred a year but they changed the terms (as did all cashback cards at that time) to such poor returns that I looked to change. Clubcard gives us good levels of deals we are delighted with them. We tend to use them for food in restaurants and days out deals, plus the odd magazine sub. If they change terms then I will happily change my credit card to someone else.

I don't see how that would work since the vouchers are clearly printed John Fowler holidays but I'm waiting for the last £40 I ordered before reading this to come through before I speak to John Fowler bookings and decide whether to go or not.

taken from clubcard terms and conditions for John Fowler Holidays

'We hope you enjoy the Clubcard Deal you have chosen. However, if you would prefer to use your Clubcard Deal Token(s) for an alternative Deal, these Tokens can be used as full or part payment for any Deal which does not have the ‘Buy in Full’ logo next to it in the brochure'

Perhaps a perusal of the T&C might help, as that way you would also know what to expect with regards to pricing too
