  • Just rang one of my local stores & apparently they're only offering 5 HD-DVD's in the £34.99 deal
So I guess this deal isn't nationwide - check first!

Why the hell would you want this anyway? HD-DVD is a defunct format, you will be hard pressed to find any HD-DVD discs, and no new titles will ever be released for this format.

it may be a dead format but theres masses of films out there at a cheap price,

Completely agree. If you want a cheap way to enjoy HD quality movies (and there really is a big selection and they are very cheap) then this is it. It's the only way I can afford HD DVD's in the near future anyway! :D

Anyone seen in any in Aberdeen?

Some things to remember when buying hd-dvd:
    1. Studios dropped support for it long ago, meaning that no films are released on the format anymore. Every studio releases on blu-ray now.
    2. Windows xp will need to download drivers for the device from windows update
    3. You will need a fairly high spec PC with a good graphics card to watch HD movies.
    4. You will also need a new version of playback software such as powerdvd as existing players will not play hd-dvd.

For the knockers this comes with a Microsoft Media remote which will set you back £20 alone, as for films I have around a hundred mostly were £2.99 at HMV delivered and quite a few were recent 2008 releases.

They are not going to self destruct and I give Blu-Ray another year before it is replaced. Will be getting them at knock down prices too, to play on my LG multiformat HD player. A bargain is a bargain when the price is right. Are books ever considered old and not worth buying?
