Glass privacy film?

  • I am using window film on front overlooked bedroom. Google window film and ask firms to send samples. Try samples on a window. Unless neighbour can come close to peer through window, you do not need mirror or frosted effect. Film designed to cut down sunlight effect etc will work well and will not appear sinister to outsiders. Be aware that all films, whilst giving you good visiblity, will cut down light level in room. They are also ineffective with a light on in room and it dark outside. Film very easy to apply as DIY.

  • hello!
i know my sister bought some window film to put on her bathroom window. It looks very good and cost her around £2.99 from a shop in or near the Barras Market in Glasgow. Perhaps your cheapie indoor market type shops will have some? Her window still lets in a lot of light and it looks great. hope this helps!

Hi, I am looking to buy this to cover a large clear window in a bathroom . Obviously it has to stop people seeing from the outside but when I looked at it in homebase it seemed see through even though it was called 'frosted'
Has anybody used this and does it work? Thanks...

Get new glass. A film is not going to be effective, it will never be rough enough while it is available on a roll. The screening effect will still permit good silhouettes and some level of anatomical detail to be seen

Thanks DVardysShadow, its a rented flat so replacing the glass is not an option. Maybe we could use the fablon and put nets up as well *cringe* :o
