Glass privacy film?

Options
Due to problematic neighbours, I would like to install privacy film on my windows to prevent them seeing into my property.

However, I'd obviously still like to see out of my windows and have the benefit of natural light, so basically it has to stop them seeing in but enable me to see out.

Has anyone else done this or got any ideas where I can get this from - cheapest as possible!!

Or any other ideas?

seems they cut out a lot of light, try motor world / halfords as car windows by law must allow 75% of visable light through the windows ... you could get mirror finish to so your neighbours can look all they want and just see themselves.
If it doesnt pay rent sell it.

  • If you the kleenezee or bettaware magazines in your area , they sell self adhesive rolls of the stuff. Woolies is usually quite good for that sort of thing also.

I was thinking of doing naked star jumps to put them off! But I think this film would be a safer option.

A thing to note is that if you have very bright lights inside the room, the mirror film will not work, you will not be able to see out, but they will be able to see in.

Also, we have mirror film on our shed windows and in the summer the sun reflects off it and burns a lovely long line right across the lawn!
  • Hi zincoxide

Try https://www.purlfrost.co.uk I purchased a 1 x 1 metre plain frosted window film from them through Ebay which worked out far cheaper than the listed prices on the website. REally well packaged and very straightforward to apply. Suppose how big the area is I suppose though. Larger one might be trickier.

Was ideal for the glass on my kitchen door as it overlooks neighbours utility room. Got rid of the hideous venetian blind that was previously hanging there and has really made a difference to the brightness of the kitchen. Hope this helps.
