I had a look Jen_31, I was hoping they might have the items at Foodbargains I had wanted from AF last week which were now sold out, peaches/jelly/soup/drinks but unfortunately they don't have them either.
I don't think it is the same company Jen_31, are they even in the same area? I have not bought from Foodbargains so I don't know much about them, a couple of regular posters here did say they had ordered from them and were happy with the service, I think they just happen to sell the same sort of stuff.
I tend to agree that there has been a lot of chocolate/sweet items on the AF site lately, I don't have a sweet tooth though so I have not much interest in those. Also there is definitely a lot more household/cleaning type stuff, but I already have a cupboard-full and won't be buying more of that until we are moving out in a few months. :p
I just wish I had placed my order last week instead of going to the warehouse, while the things I wanted were still in stock.

The big things of salsa sound good- but I can't make up an order at the moment either. Partly its because I've stil got lots of stuff left, but mainly teh stock isn't the sort of thing I want. I would like them to split the new lines up into food and non food, so I don't have to scroll through lots of air freshener to find the items I like... Anyway the ideal for me would be more pasta, or those big jars of homepride sauce, as I am getting low on those and they have been great, froze them in pots as I opened the big jars up.

I think the things I regret buying, at the moment, are the tomato/onion crisp breads, as I have still got too many.Though not the flat bread, that has been great, as have the bagels. Also I have started using soba noodles instead of spaghetti and it is quite good.:p

Lol a bit more browsing and I did get a decent order together- though I took the last of the 7up sparkly water to make the weight worthwhile.

I'm aware the selection of goods available has altered slightly but that is the nature of our business - we can only offer what is available at bargain prices. This week we have lots of rice and pasta coming in as well as tinned food (soups and stuff) Oh, and lots more chocolate biscuits and the like!
    Cheers,
    Dan

Thank you Dan. :jIt's great to know there will be more healthy stuff coming, I am sure though that everyone here realises it pretty much has to be pot luck on what you can get your hands on. I guess there is always a lot of excess choc. around after Christmas/Valentines/Easter!
Rice, pasta and soup definitely sounds more promising, especially for those of us trying to lose a bit of weight over the summer!
The range of special diet type foods has luckily, (for those that need it) always been pretty good considering the randomness of available items.
I check the site every few days although I really try to order just once a month, when I can see that there will be enough for a full order via the alternate courier, but my cupboards don't ever seem to get much emptier!
I wanted to try the seafood cocktail but I can't really think of what to do with it. I love seafood so I am sure I would like it. Could it possibly be blended up to make a pate or mousse? Suggestions anyone? Also what does Bearnaise sauce go with? I assume it is similar to Hollandaise so might be best suited to fish? :D

    Jaytin,
Bearnaise sauce is basically Hollandaise plus tarragon (and a hint of shallot). Goes well with fish, particularly salmon. (Having just looked at a jar it actually has a picture of a salmon steak and some prawns on the label!) Also a classic accompanyment to steak. We also like it with chicken - though I'm sure the purists would frown! The one from AF is a really good one - much nicer than the one I normally bring back from France and much, much cheaper.

The seafood cocktail is really nice and well worth it, it is mostly baby octopus and squid so my kids didn't fancy it! We had it in a salad with crusty bread and it was lovely. It's in oil but it must also be preserved in vinegar as you can taste it so I'm not sure about blending it up, it might taste a bit acidic.

Many thanks for the helpful replies! :j I did find that same Bearnaise sauce for sale on an American web-site but it was $35 for 4 jars!!!
I have never tried baby octopus, but they do look very cute, not sure if I could eat them! :p

I just had another order from AF using the new courier. My 2 boxes were extremely well packed by AF, so no problems at all with damaged goods. And everything I ordered was there (one very minor substitution). I got discounted delivery & free juice into the bargain. I'm really happy with them again (& forgiven the multiple e-mails now!)
