  • thanks alot for your kind replies I will try asking them to remove the additions plus stuff

i have never requested an upgrade to the sort of account that i have at the moment. Like i said i opened it in the mid-90s and it was free then, and its always been my pay-in account and never holds more than my months wages at any one time. I have other accounts for savings and things.

i definitely never asked for this to be "upgraded" in any way?

It sounds like it may have been one of these opt in if you do nothing type of stunts that Barclays are so fond of.

That's £16 per month you will be better off dizzygirl78 and, just as importantly, one less customer that Barclays are ripping off!

    Consumer revenge! :D

when did the upgrade happen? Ask them for the evidence that you asked for it.

I would have caught it month 1 if it had happened to me.
£16 charge on my account would have been queried imediately you should be checking all your statements every month.
  • yeah im an idiot i should be checking statements but hence the forum i guess :D

i'll ask them for evidence too and let you guys know how i got on.

not impossible, but i find it hardly unlikely this is the case, the account was always upgrade facility was only offered on request and certainly more recently requires a signature before it is upgraded. The account is done on a non advised basis. Do you remember how long ago, or does your statements show how long the account has been an additions plus, since it wouldnt have been done on account opening back in mid 90 since add plus only started late 90's
Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. If you’re not sure why please read the forum rules or email the forum team if you’re still unsure.
