Will 21CN give me faster broadband?

I live too far from the telephone exchange to get anything higher than a 512kbps ADSL speed even though I am actually on (and paying for) a Tiscali 2Mbps package. I understand that my exchange is being made ready for a 21CN switch over at the end of March. Will this digital enhancement enable me to get a higher speed internet connection?

5. How will migration work?
There are two different approaches to migration:1. Migration of voice services, then broadbandThe way in which you are migrated will depend on the area in which you live and the types of service you use.
2. Migration of broadband, then voice services
6. Why are there two approaches to migration?
BT is reacting to industry's request that they accelerate next generation broadband so that as many people as possible get these new services as quickly as possible. Most of the country will have voice services migrated first. However, in some areas, broadband will be migrated before voice services. This is being done so that the relevant areas - which account for around 50% of the UK's broadband usage - can be established on 21CN before the launch of next generation broadband services in January 2008.
7. How will the two approaches work in practice?
Broadly, the two approaches cover the following groups:1. Migration of voice services, then broadband- This approach is being used in the Cardiff area, in which migration is taking place between November 2006 and June 2007 (although the migration of broadband services in this region may continue until August 2007).
- This approach will also be used for national migration from January 2008 onwards, following a regional roll-out schedule agreed with the telecoms industry.
- This approach will be used in the areas that account for around 50% of the UK's broadband footprint. Broadband services at these exchanges will be moved from existing arrangements to an interim platform between July and December 2007 (preparing for the move to 21CN).
- Then, during the national roll-out process that begins in January 2008, the voice services on the relevant exchanges will be migrated and the broadband services will be migrated to permanent arrangements on 21CN.

Theoretically yes - knowing BT probably not

There website says no:Please note that the upgrade to BT’s next generation Broadband platform will not resolve any existing Broadband service availability/speed issues. This is specifically where you have been informed that this is due to your distance from the local telephone exchange.
