Current 02 customer wanting to upgrade to iphone

My 18 month contract with 02 is about to come to an end in june.
Its my birthday next month ( my 21st) and my parents were stuck for ideas as to what to get me.
My current contract is 600 any time any network mins, 1000 texts and free 02 to 02 calls. I think we pay £35 for this.
Iv been looking at the iphone on the 02 online website and a tariff for the current price we pay lacks in texts.
£34.26 gets 600 mins, and 500 texts, with unlimited data/wifi.
Does anyone know if i would get a better deal if i rang them and asked for my pack number? ( think that is what its called)

But there isnt anything i actually want. the phone is the only idea because my contract is coming to an end soon0 -
not 100% certain on this but i THINK the iphone tariffs are set and agreed with apple so there isn;t flexibility on it like other handsets...0

Sorry to Hijack this thread OP, but I see you are an O2 employee, what's the deal with the Nokia 5800. Waiting to upgrade/get a retentions deal on it but its been out of stock for ages, was told would be Monday so rang up and now saying next Monday! Is there problems with it, can get it from other networks no problem?!0 -

It should be possible to get a discount from O2's Retentions team on renewing the contract - there is a long thread on here about this. Typically, £20 a month seems to be reasonable for the use you have at the moment
But they didn't used to have discounts available for iPhone deals. I haven't studied things recently to find out whether that has changed0
