Hi, I'm still waiting for my cheque from A&L, I have rung them and they just fobbed me off with rubbish.
Also they havent, as they said they would recalculated my monthly loan amount and it still includes the £24 PPI cover!!!
Any ideas what I should do??0 -

Hi hun
Sorry to hear this.
I would write to them and tell them if they do not respond to your requests of both cheque payments and the breakdown within 7 days of this letter, you will consider taking further action.
(sometimes this helps push the boat a little), and think this is the only way at the moment.
Its just not fair why you should be waiting so long, I understand they have many others to deal with, but its been some-time already.
Good luck and any further problems, let us know.;)The one and only "Dizzy Di"0 -
Thanks for the advice, will now write a letter and see what happens from there. I will keep you informed!0

With one of mine over a year ago, it came to the point that I had to send them a "letter before action" (LBA), as we were waiting a good while for the payout after a final decision made by the FOS a few months before.
If I still had that letter I would have passed this on to you, looks like I did not save this (sorry), but it worked anyway.;)
They should send you the full written breakdown, its only fair to know how they calculated "your own money".
Good luck XThe one and only "Dizzy Di"0 -
Hi
I sent my LBA off on the 2nd May this is my letter ....
With reference to your letter dated 26th February 2009 offering me Full refund plus interest which I accepted as full and final settlement of my complaint. My acceptance form was returned to your office which you received on the 2nd March 2009.
As yet I have not received a refund of the PPI and my loan repayments have still not been readjusted so I am still paying for the PPI every month, of which, I expect you to recalculate your original offer to include this with my final settlement.
I hereby give you a further 7 days from the date of this letter in which to comply with my request.
If I do not receive a full refund of this amount within this time, I will have no alternative but to begin legal proceedings to recover this money.
.....well it's the 17th May and I still havent had anything back from them, any idea's what i should do next ????0 -

Hi there
Surely they should have got back to you by now.
I would ring the FOS tomorrow, let them know what has happened here, see if they can suggest something to you, good luck with this.;)

You could however, ring the loan company first to let them know your aware they have received your letter and want to know what the heck is going on, its not fair you should be waiting like this. XThe one and only "Dizzy Di"0 -
Hmmm me thinks Alliance and Leicester should now be strung up, the worse thing is that they were the one's who got in touch with me first to say that they had probably wrongly mis-sold me PPI. Wern't sure if I should ring A&L but I will first thing in the morning and then will also ring FOS to see what advice they have to offer.
Thank you kindly for the information and the FOS link.
Will let you know how it progresses.

I am surprised to be honest that you have not heard since sending in a LBA, they may have sent something out in the post that have not reached you, so its always best to check, as you know they don't always use recorded delivery either, so this way you should know what's happened here.
I will keep everything crossed for you and hope to hear some good news tomorrow, good luck.:A;)XXThe one and only "Dizzy Di"0 -
Up-date: after two days of hanging on the phone i finally managed to speak to someone today. I asked why my cheque had not been sent out as I had returned my acceptance form to them on 2nd March. I was told that until they send a new contract out to me the cheque will NOT be released.
I pointed out that since i accepted their claim they have taken another £100 in ppi from me. The operator said that I will only get a cheque for the original amount that was offered and that any overpayments will be eventually repaid. I asked that if the cheque amount is for the original amount that i have already accepted then why cant it be sent, they could only re-iterate that i have to receive the new contract first before they will release the cheque.
They said that they would get the contract issued to me as soon as they could but couldnt give me a guarantee of when. I received no apologies or excuses.
I am soooooooooooooooo fed up with the whole thing now(
