mobile to mobile

Sorry if this has been discussed but im looking to call another network via my mobile..im currently on the o2 leisure time plus which allow me 1000 minutes to o2/landlline offpeak. HOwever i sometimes use my mobile to call 0844 numbers then dail my international number and this comes off my free minutes. I want to know if this can be done to call other mobile networks..i.e. it comes of your free minutes when u dial for example..telestunt 0871 999 41 41 then their mobile number aftwards?

  • Think O2 charge 35pm to 0871 numbers - I know T mobile charge 10p to 0871 numbers (ability to use Telestunt) but they are the only network I'm aware of that charges this.

You could register your mobile with:

    http://www.call1899.co.uk/

You would then be able to dial their London 0207 001 9696 access number using your o2 free minutes and then dial onward to your international number. You would be charged for the international portion of the call by call1899.com, but at far lower rates than via your mobile company.

You can use this service to call other UK mobiles at 10p per minute during the week, and at only 2p per minute on Saturdays and Sundays. There is a 3p connection charge per call.

For off-peak calls to other mobiles use 0844 484 8899. This is operated by http://www.07tel.co.uk/.

Beware however that there is speculation going on elsewhere in the board (http://forum.moneysavingexpert.com/cgi-bin/yabb/YaBB.cgi?board=Telephone;action=display;num=1101981230)that 02 are now charging for 0844/0845/0870 calls that have hitherto been included within the bundled minutes. If you can monitor your charges online it would be a useful addition to our collective knowledge to have this confirmed one way or the other.

I've checked my online bill and the calls to Aus from my o2 sim card looks like this..

    04/12/04
    10:33:37
    07841355308
    08445700000
    Off Peak
    00:20:50
    0.000
    F

the mobile number is the number of my sim card
the 0844 is just dial access number
then the duration of the call
    how much they charged me
F = its allowed in my bundles of minutes

Before i got this contrcat I did call up o2 and it took about one month before i got a solid answer..they told me they will charge and all that but i still decided to go with o2 as most of my mates are on it, I thought ill give it a try and boom, they're were lying to me all this time. I also learnt a lession from my old o2 contract by blocking all international calls made from my mobile as sometimes when I dail their international number o2 treated it as another call ???
