Anyway i can get out of paying this fee? I've seen someone from TalkTalk posting on this board, perhaps they can offer some inside info?

No, its set out in their terms & conditions that an activation fee is required.0

Hello there,
The £29.99 activation charge is set out in all welcome literature and in ther terms and conditions of the service - even I had to pay it!! So, in short - no there is no way of "getting out" of the charge.
