Should I take Lloyds cancellation offer?

Phoned up Lloyds to cancel my Advance card which was 12 months 0%. They asked me what they could do to make me stay. I said, 'another interest free deal'. So they offered 6 months interest free. I asked to see the offer in writing but they said they can't do send it in writing, its an on the phone only offer. Is this a safe bet? I am worried about being stung with BT fees. They assured me no fees, but I would like it in writing. Am I right to be cautious?
Has anybody else had this when trying to cancel?

I've recently taken a 0% repeat deal from Virgin in similar circumstances.

Just record the name, extension number, call centre location, date & time of your call. Then check your next statement (and/or online area if you have it) to ensure everything's OK.

A further 6 months 0%, no BT fee, no credit check...it doesn't get much better than that...well it does actually...why not ask for a small credit limit increase as well?

Don't be greedy, because if you ask for too much they'll need to credit search you first. I got a 30% credit limit increase with Virgin without a credit search.
  • Cheers I'll give it a go.
