Does anyone have Ikea Pax/Malm Oak?

I've got 2 sets of malm oak chest of drawers and 2 x bedside tables. Have had them for about 3 years and definately no orange colour change.
I have had problems with the drawers themselves though with the bases falling out. Learned to live with that now though and don't put too much weight in them.
Did yours have the little clip and screw to hold the base in? We put some up recently and they all had a little widget to stop the base dropping"a workman, even of the lowest and poorest order, if he is frugal and industrious, may enjoy a greater share of the necessaries and conveniences of life than it is possible for any savage to acquire."0 -
No - I didn't mean this to be an anti SA post - just venting my general anger. You are right - the website and stock info needs to be looked at as does staff training and awareness. However at all my times shopping at Ikea - 15 years the staff and customer service level has remained exactly the same. Very poor!! We nearly abandoned our trip to the new local Ikea as the things we wanted were showing up as out of stock online and phone - checked at last minute and they were in - hence the hell like experience.
If they stocked everything online, and charged reasonable postage I would forego stepping foot in the place ever again. Some of the things we wanted - like crockery and cutlery was poor quality and vastly overpriced. Impulse buys? Only impulse was to get exactly what we had come for.... and then spend 45 minutes queing to have the pleasure to pay for it.
Definitely not a good shopping experience. And I wouldn't know when the best time to go is. Early - evryone else has same idea. Late - knowing their excellent CS you would be waiting in line for an hour to be told the shop was shutting, come back 2moro!!
No yellowing though!!! LOL
I bought three Pax Oak wadrobes this week and assembled them last night.
No orange at all, nice dark colours - the image link on eBay actually looks Beech not oak which is naturally a little orange in colour.
On the staffing issue, normally I would agree however, two of the warehouse staff in the Croydon were outstanding, they were both Eastern European judging by their accent, spoke very little English, but with the help of a little drawing and writing they went all over the warehouse collecting all the relevant parts for me, even shelves showing zero stock, they dissapeared out to the main warehouse, found new stock and brought it out for me.
Not an experience I've had before in Ikea......
I have one major piece of advice regarding Ikea...
Never go at the weekend or on a Bank Holiday - Don't even entertain the thought!
Go weekday evenings and meander through the space at your leisure.0
