Virgin media connection issues

I've been having some issues for the past 4 weeks or so with the quality of my phoneline. It's a BT phoneline, but I pay virgin for calls and broadband. The phoneline sounds really crackly to me, but not to the other party, and I've done all of BT's recommended investigation.
It's more of an annoyance than anything else so I haven't bothered to report it yet, but since Saturday I'm unable to get broadband. My router just isn't finding it, and I can't seem to make a wired connection either.
Is anyone else experiencing the same issues? Or does anyone have the same problem?
