Unwanted texts about flights

I've started getting texts messages at all hours of the day and night about flight information. I thought it had stopped but just received another one

I haven't caught a flight and haven't registered for info.

It comes through as a text message as "flightinfo" number details are "997" and text is Egentia Alert.

I can't seem to find details to stop these texts as someone has obviously used my mobile number. (and I'd need to find my phone manual to know how to stop unwanted texts!).

can someone give me a clue please as I don't want to be woken again and I always have my phone on for work purposes.

I don't know how to stop them :o

thanks

I think you reply with 'STOP'
Can you establish if you're being charged for these texts?
It can be £s per text in some cases.

Well, I have text stop so will see if they stop! I will be checking my phonebill to see if I have been charged because I most certainly have not registered and have no interest in what is going on with flights from different international airports!

    Thanks for your help!

Find out who it was and demand a refund
What if I receive a text message and don't know who it's from?
If you receive a text message and don't know who it's from, don't delete it. Call your mobile company to see if they can give you any information on the sender and whether it cost you anything to receive it.
If you were charged for the text and don't think you signed up to receive it, then call PhonepayPlus on 0800 500 212 (Mon-Fri, 8am-6pm) or fill in our online complaint form. You will need the number that the text message came from and the content of it when you submit your complaint.
