Does anyone have any idea about my car seat issue?? I swear the damn thing is price fixed at £115 and I don't want to spend that kind of money! Considering taking DS to meadowhall in the double buggy on sunday and just trying some on the damn thing!

    You are probably right...

When we had dd1 (who is 8) you used to be able to get discounts of around 20% on current M&P stock - you still could by the time I had dd2 (4) however not long after she arrived I went back onto a website that I had bought *something* M&P (can't remember what) and they had a very memorable holding page :rotfl: with something along the lines of M&P had refused to sell them stock as they offered discounts to customers (with a pic of a baby with all its fingers curled - except one ;))

What fabric is the pushchair? I will have a look and see if I can come up with anything... I googled prima vaggio last night and then realised I needed the fabric name!

I *think* there is still a local shop that has M&P with discount - but no website... then again been a while since I was in there. It might be worth checking local independent nursery/pram shops as opposed to actual M&P shops - if you still get them?!

When I used the pram with dd1 and ds I don't think they had brought out the prima vaggio... I had the one before that that didn't have a click base - It lived in the car - sorry the car seat compatibilty thing didn't occur to me because at the time I had a perfectly good car seat iyswim?

thanks so much for the info on the wrapper shel, much appreciated. maybe i will hold off until i get the voucher with the bounty pack.

as for your car seat issue, i dont think i can help. assume you have done a search on the comparison websites/amazon/ebay etc???

Yeah have searched for the actual car seat but what the internet wont tell me is if any other cheaper makes will fit on the mamas and papas pushchair! It's making me very cross.

The fabric is toffee on the twin aria+ I have and i have searched and searched and £115 is cheapest I can find.
  • Shelvis - sorry haven't got a clue about the car seat question... could you call M&Ps?

I think M&P have discount outlets that you could try I think it was MFD that said they are listed on the M&P site.
I'm pretty sure no other carseats will be recommended as it is made to be compatible with the M&P seat only and they would be giving business to others if they made it compatible with others. because of that its probably not safe to use any other seats with it, soz hun

I think Sami is right, as always!
  • Hanley (Stoke-on-Trent) and Huddersfield are def M&P Factory outlets.

TBH I thought there were more than that but I can't see where I found them on the website now

  • Caz - Thank you for your birth story, I hope it is just as quick for me!

shelvis - I'm no help with the car seat, sorry. Thanks for the info on the nappy wrapper - I bought the TT one last saturday. It was an impulse buy and knew I should have done some research first  I just thought it would "do", oh well, you live and learn.

It was my Dh's 30th yesterday, I made him a cake and he got all the things he wanted (admittedly he put them in the trolley himself when shopping - I just had to wrap them up! :D ) He also got some good news - he is getting another payrise! It will mean an extra £100 a month in his pay packet after april! Wohoo!

Thanks for the welcome. Can't seem to remember, don't think i was as bad, just went off chocolate for the first 3 or 4 months. This time its the smell of things that i really can't take, even nice smells. Have had to replace the dogs beds, have dragged them both into the shower, even nice smelling air-freshners and perfume make me gag. At least the OH is now on patches to stop smoking, because the smell of smoke on him really does not do me any good.

Have a question re midwives and booking in app. Have been referred to midwives by doctor, the midwives at my clinic can only fit me in for booking in 12 March, at which point i will be nearly 13 weeks. Am i not supposed to have blood tests before this? What about scan, will i have to wait until i have seen the midwives to get an appointment?
    Thanks Claire

I had my booking appointment quite late so I rang MW about scan and she booked it over the phone for me, I wouldn't wait for your appointment.

Just seen my MW, she gave me my MatB1 without me even asking which was great. Got scan results at last, all fine. Baby now slightly smaller but she said they always go with the 12 week scans the measuring is better then for dates but I had already said I thought this one was smaller. Anyway they arrive when they decide.

Suns out here so we're off for a walk on the beach, back later. X
Too many children, too little time!!!

I feel ill today :( Bump really hurts when I stand up, so I'm going to have to spent the day on the sofa I think. Really tired and achy. :(
