Congratulations, were you this sick last time?
Thanks for the welcome. Can't seem to remember, don't think i was as bad, just went off chocolate for the first 3 or 4 months. This time its the smell of things that i really can't take, even nice smells. Have had to replace the dogs beds, have dragged them both into the shower, even nice smelling air-freshners and perfume make me gag. At least the OH is now on patches to stop smoking, because the smell of smoke on him really does not do me any good.
Have a question re midwives and booking in app. Have been referred to midwives by doctor, the midwives at my clinic can only fit me in for booking in 12 March, at which point i will be nearly 13 weeks. Am i not supposed to have blood tests before this? What about scan, will i have to wait until i have seen the midwives to get an appointment?
Thanks Claire0 -

that is strange isn't it.
i am not 100% of the rules back home, but i know as soon as you become sexually active you are encouraged to have your smear test done every two years (unless there is a reason for them to be done more regularly). if you aren't sexually active, then i think they still suggest screening at around 21 or something like that.0 -
workinmummy - congratulations and welcome.
re your booking appointment, i am not sure as i had mine at 8 weeks, where bloods were taken and loads of forms completed. i think probably had my scan (and more blood tests) somewhere between 12 - 13 weeks.
i know different trusts in different areas of the country do not operate the same.0 -
 keep writing posts then losing them
Think my hormones have really kicked in...
Krystal - have been blubbering looking at the photos on that photgraphers website
Had a good old sob because hubby said he didn't like one of the names on our long-list
Was really happy yesterday afternoon (a bit of a kick from being so productive) then spent all night in agony with my SPD.

Hi everyone!
Hope all is well this morning. Did some speed reading think I am about caught up!
Nappy wrapper - you don't have to wait till full to empty (but why not as it's less hassle!). I own both the Tommy Tippee one and the Angelcare one. Both me and OH HATE the TT one with a passion. It's rubbish and doens't keep the smell out and it uses wads of the wrapper as you have to spin it to make a chain of nappy sausages Plus the inner thingy kept dropping off and getting stuck in the middle of our nappy sausage and was annoying so thats stuck on with duct tape now. The AC one is much better. Keeps all smells in, easier to empty, cheaper to buy cassetes (which last much longer than the TT ones) and there is a clear line of red that tells you when it is running out. In short the free/£4.99 one is a world better!!
I had to have some blood tests this morning to see if my MCV is in the normal range yet. If not they may up my iron or even give me iron injections - eek! BUT I am 14+1 and she said 'shall we see if we can hear baby' so I jumped at the chance and listened in and we found it first time! All strong and loud it was lovely. I think it wasn't as fast as last time unless I am remembering it wrong...Either way I was chuffed and it was a nice suprise after being vampired!
Does anyone have any idea about my car seat issue?? I swear the damn thing is price fixed at £115 and I don't want to spend that kind of money! Considering taking DS to meadowhall in the double buggy on sunday and just trying some on the damn thing!0 -

Oh I imagine your emtions are in overdrive, mine are and you are a few weeks ahead of me. Hubby only has to say something in a tone i deem short/curse/angry and i could burst into tears.
now i know where the hugs are, let me give you some :grouphug: :grouphug::grouphug::grouphug::grouphug::grouphug::grouphug::grouphug::grouphug::grouphug::grouphug::grouphug::grouphug::grouphug::grouphug:

As far as I'm aware the bloods are fine if done at 12wks as I think that is the standard thing in some trusts (they like to make sure they see a baby in there before they "waste" money on blood tests )
I'd speak to the GP about the scan as it's different everywhere you may get a letter for your scan appointment in the post as some do, but at my surgery the MW book the scan over the phone at the booking app so u ideally don't want that to happen0 -

Hi. CONGRATS and welcome!
I have a list here given to me by my midwife. I realise all trusts are different but I think it's similar in most areas. Rather than me type it all out here it is:
Hope this works!0
