SRJ Debt Recover!!

I keep receiving letters from SRJ debt recovery for an old debt to talk talk, the debt is for a cancellation fee after I cancelled my contract with them after signing up for internet services and then them later admitting that they did not provide internet in my area.
I have told SRJ on at least 3 occasions that I am disputing the debt and that they need to return to their client with my dispute.
They are basically not interested and keep saying it can go to court, its really starting to annoy me, any advice please?

Not heard of SRJ? Is there a longer version of the name? I can go and check then to a) see if they actually exist (because some are just made up names, not registered with Companies House) and b) I can tell you possibly if they are in-house and not a proper DCA. Because it does matter if so.
But, firstly, did your provider admit to anything in writing? Because that is the crux here and why only written communication with these companies is vital. Because phone calls are just heresay, cannot be proved and wil not be taken seriously by a judge. Whereas a printed trail, demonstrating all you've done to reach a negotiation will have an impact on any court case because it's physical proof. That would be your best defense if anything did - I stress DID - go to court. Most DCA's don't like going to court because it can blow up in their faces without the proper paperwork.
If I am not intruding, how much is this debt for? I will explain why when you reply.I have told SRJ on at least 3 occasions that I am disputing the debt and that they need to return to their client with my dispute.
Okay, what have you done to put this into dispute? Phone or by written letter? Bare in mind that the CCA doesn't cover broadband contracts.Any help, opinions, views I may hold those are my own. Respect them as you would expect the same in return. Offered freely, is gleaned from a lifetime of experiences, knowledge gaining. Passed on to benefit others. I may be direct, ask you questions but those are to help you. Up to you if you choose to take it. I won't judge you either way.

Well, never mind because a quick five seconds Googling gave me the answers I needed to reply. Have you moved addresses at all without notifying this company? Because I note it says they specialise in debt tracing. Because it will be relevent later if that is the case here.Any help, opinions, views I may hold those are my own. Yes, I will keep posting until you reply. But this is where you are going to hit a problem:and then them later admitting that they did not provide internet in my area.
Their argument will simply be did you check before signing up to them they did cover your area? That's not me being unhelpful but that is something that would be brought up as a valid argument. Anyway, I will leave you to it. If you don't want to reply fine.Any help, opinions, views I may hold those are my own. Respect them as you would expect the same in return. Hi there, sorry went off to make the dinner.
The debt is for £85.
I have not moved address at all.
Talk talk were at my door a couple of months ago trying to get me to sign up again as they now offer it in my area!!
I don't have anything in writing. I have advised SJR what the dispute is about (via phone) and they're not interested. I pointed out that they have to make sure that it is a valid debt before they are legally able to pursue it, and as this is not the case they need to return to their client to resolve the dispute before continuing to try to recover the money (think this is about right) they are so not interested, they can't wait to get off the phone to me.0 -

I wonder if someone can help me or give me some advice regarding my situation. In August 2008 (28th of tha month) after being with the carphone warehouse for two years on a pay monthly contract i was ready for a yearly contract renewal. On the 3rd of August i received a phone call from carphone warehouse regarding my eligibility for renewal, i don't usually do it over the phone however the offer they were offering was quite good an thus i took the contract up. Following that two days later i received a new phone and used my phone in a way that ran parallel with my new tariff. However to my surprise i received a bill at the end of august for £220 pounds. When i contacted carphone warehouse they informed me that my new tariff did not come into affect until the 28th of August. I argued that i had not been informed this and had been miss-sold my contract. I therefore asked them to prove that they had told me this and furthermore asked them to provide me with a written agreement or confirmation of the contract. To this day i have not received either. I for a long period asked carphone warehouse to itemize the bill so it started on the date they initially rang me. However despite me not using my phone and the fact that they had not provided me with confirmation of the contract and that hey informed me of the date of tariff initiation i dug my heels in. Since then i have received numerous letters from different debt agencies asking for the full settlement of my Contract+ the inflated August bill. The latest is quite threatening from SRJ. I am quite aware that i owe money to carphone warehouse i don't dispute that but i feel that they have miss-sold me my contract and i refuse to pay this outstanding debt until it is sorted.
Can anyone give me some advice or help in relation to my situation as i am really at the end my tether, and i am getting threatened with court action. I have all my emails in relation to my dispute with carphone warehouse as proof, but as soon as i threatened them with court they handed it over to the debting companies and in essence washed their hands of the problem. HELP!!!0
