Son has just e-mailed me. he has lost his smart card for his electricity, so in total darkness, does anyone know where he can buy a new one?

Sorry to sound rude but what has this got to do with Travel/holidays?
To answer your question are you sure you can buy them,are they not given as a one off by your electricity supplier(to top up when needed like the key you use for the pre-payment meters).Maybe get him to ring supplier to see what they say.
