Hello
Im quite new to this site, i have applied tomy bank for my PPI its with lloyds so i don't feel hopefull.
But also i read a thread from someone who applied to dfs and got there money back so i did the same.
They have just called to say the cover was optional and if i didnt want it i shouldnt have took it, I did explain the salesman said i couldnt get finance without it, she said i couldnt possibly remember a conversation from that long ago and that i should have read it and it says optional and that now the finance has finished (only last year) i cant claim it back anyway because iv had the goods??????
Is this right does anyone know? what do i do now put it down to "it was worth a try?"

Send a letter or email to Andrew Tweedale Group controller email contactus@dfs.co.uk & state your case as strongly as possible, if you bought your furniture before 2005 the staff had no training to sell PPI, explain that you were pressured into buying the PPI.

I sent my email at 5.30pm & by 9.40am the next day had received a phone call letting me know I would get my money back. Good luck
  • thank-you so much, I will do it straight away.
    Thanks

Good luck with LLoyds, in my experience they are not the easiest but keep a them, if this is your first letter you may receive the standard fob off response back from them, that you were aware as you signed and blah blah blah, but write another if that is the case and if still not successful by the final response, you should have the opportunity to take your complaint to the ombudsman etc. They should disclose details of these in the final response with a leaflet of the procedures.

Now in regards of DFS I have too come across posts, that some were successful, no matter if you bought the goods or not the point is that your complaint is about the PPI and not about the sales of the good you purchased, make them aware of this.

Write back to DFS and tell them you hold them responsible and your not satisfied with their response, also that you are aware the goods side of it has nothing to do with your complaint about PPI.

Tell them if they do not uphold and refund you to your satisfaction you will have no option but to take this matter further.

I will send you a private message in a few mins as well, but keep at them.;)

And keep us posted in order for us to continue to help you here.

    Cheers

  • Can i also ask with regards to the claim from lloyds tsb, my husband has claimed for two loans he was sold ppi on both, on his first lone he had a operation on his back (slipped disc), when he tried to claim from his ppi obviously they said NO because it was a pre exsisting medical condition?????? anyway they sent him a check for £180.00 as a gesture of good will this amount was a one of and not even for the amount of one months loan repayment. When he had his second loan he was taken ill with PNemonia, but was told he couldnt claim because of an exsisting claim???? he has never made a claim?

I just wondered has anyone come across this and will it effect us claiming back his PPI?
