  • Alexa is a bunch of baloney - the "rankings" are only taking into account those who surf using the Alexa bar on their browser.

Hopefully you are all avid readers of the tech forums here on the MSE site and know how to get rid of and prevent these ad-filled spying privacy-ignoring bars that clutter your workspace and eat up resources.

Trading in Alexa "stocks" only goes further to promote these in my huble opinion.

    Just discovered a great site...

    Alexadex

It's effectively a stockmarket type game where you buy and sell companies depending on their daily ranking on Alexa. Thus by predicting trends on the internet you can buy/sell/trade. Of course its all for fun, but no money involved. I hope you will all be buying moneysavingexpert.com

I have to admit that those of us in MoneySaving towers are looking at small to mid-sized sites that may be included in next weeks email tip and are buying their stock.... (just bought some in alexadex myself!)

Worst still there are rumours that the above link to alexadex is infact an affiliate link which means I get $1000 virtual dollars for everyone who starts to play (mwah ha ha ha ha ha).....

    Great fun

    martin

Shouldn't this be on the referral's board and a non referral link inculded?

    :D

Well done Martin! You are currently in 14th place on the Top Referrers board and you have an "o" next to your username to recognise this achievement.

    Well done. :)

    omg

I was checking out martin's shares to see if I could get some insider info

I was wondering what the dispute button was for, next to the transactions.
so I pressed it..thinkin a box would appear, maybe asking for more details of why I was disputing the transaction or summat

    Not so
"Thank you for logging a dispute, It will now be investigated " was the message I got

    whoops.....sorry Martin !! :o

    rob :D

<edit> I feel less sorry for him now I noticed he got $10,000 in referals  :rotfl:
