Ryans Air Gift Vouchers alternative to debit/credit card fee's?

If like me you are fed up of Ryan Air slapping on £X for using a Debit/credit card.
The only way around this is to use a Electron card which I personally only thought they issued to 12 year olds!
So the way around is to buy Ryan Air vouchers which you don't pay the commission for using Credit/Debit cards and use them that way.
N.B Only buy the vouchers to the value you think your flights will be as you will get no change from them!
Hope this helps?

These vouchers are of little interest to many MSE'ers exactly for this reason, as many of us spends nowhere near £25 on Ryanair flights. Somehow I don't think Ryanair will ever be persuaded to issue £5 and £10 vouchers. (The best would be 1p vouchers, but that'll be the day!)
Getting an Electron card seems to be the best option.0 -

Easy solution to avoid paying these fees- Just go into your local Halifax/Hbos branch and they will give you a form to apply for an account that issues an electron card to avoid ryanairs card fees. I got mine within 10 days. It is not just Ryan air that charges these fees, other small budget airlines do the same.0 -
Well I found it easier to do it other way, by the time we had added our baggage on, sports equiptment etc etc, I used the vouchers, would have had about £1.40 change but I let them keep that, there were 5 of us travelling!
I see no need for to apply for an Electron card and yet another credit search, Proving ID etc etc on my file and the vouchers are much easier.
I find it funny that if you hold a Ryan Air credit card, they still charge you the same amount on the fee's, great incentive that!0 -
there is a dedicated ryanair thread for things like this to go in
can we get a merge please?0 -
The title to this thread is a bit misleading unfortunately. The vouchers are not a lot of help.0
