Well, having initially declined my application, Barclays have now opened the account for me and given me a Connect Card. Is that better than an Electron Card, or just the same?0

I phoned the Universal Banking (sounds like something from the Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy) helpline on 08457 555 555, asked them how my application was going, told them my circumstances and the bloke said he'd appeal the decision to decline me. He phoned back this morning saying I was ok and giving me the account details. I'll have the card in 5 days apparently.
Good luck!0 -

thanks CC I've called twice now last night and this afternoon, on that number, and both times they've told me to go into the branch as they won't have my details on the system in central customer service. will call again and pretend I havent got the letter and say 'just checking progress' else I'll have to find time and go into the branch.
thanks for your advice. Have you deciphered what a connect card does?0
