Had a look at tools, options, send and mail sending format is HTML but news sending format is plain text, this can't be relevant though surely?
Aside from this I'm not sure what else it could be.

Outlook I find is by far the most used app on my PC, couldnt organise myself without it, and if your on an exchange server then OWA should also get a look in when your away from your main PC

I use Apple Mail myself, which I use to access my GMail account using IMAP.

If I used Windows, I would probably use Thunderbird.
