Loss Adjuster holding onto Builders VAT....NU Insurance

Does anyone have the address for the Ombudsman?
Cunningham Lyndsey dealt with my flood claim. Building work was complete and moved out of temp accomodation. Landlady tried to withhold over 1k from deposit for redecorating after me ony being there for 9 months. To cut a long story short Loss Adjuster withheld the deposit amount from the VAT payable to builder while the deposit was sorted out. I managed to get back the deposit (landlady admitted she couldn't keep it she just wanted to waste my time as the insurance paid her rent late once! Another story!!!) and the check was sent from Agents to Loss Adjuster in December. I have not received the VAT money and have been chasing and chasing (emails and phonecalls) and am being completely ignored. Being chased by Builders for the money so need to get Ombusdman involved as it's been over 2 months now.

Try ringing Norwich Union claims up directly or email your problem to beccus on this email rebecca.sibley@norwich-union.co.uk She is a customer services manager who is often in this forum and does her best to sort MSE forum members problems out0

Hi
Thank you for web address. I have already contacted and had no reply for a couple of weeks on another matter.. bassically I have asked for a quote for NU for buildings and contents and they are just ignoring my letters which show I don't live in a flood risk area.. freak weather flooded my property but any company hears flood claim and I'm not not insurable.. have tried several companies and just get ignored.0 -
Use a local broker, if it was due to freak weather conditions, they will know which companies will accept you and be able to explain to the Insurers why it was so freak and what the council / ea have done to prevent it happening again.
NU are not great at coming back to you, the secret is knowing who to speak to, so either use beccas email address or use a local broker as they will have clear paths of contact with Norwich Union
Normally best to stay with whichever company paid the claim though0 -
Chased Becca up so hopefully will get a reply soon.. very nervous having no insurance.!0
