Thanks. I found it quite difficult to follow what was going on in that thread. I think I could probably negotiate like that but it would kill my bf (typical man just wants the line of least resistance). He won't like this dragging on for longer than a day. But he wants to do the talking, so we've sorted out a script (on the other thread which you have replied to - thanks!).

Bf offered asking price when he bought the flat (albeit 10 years ago), so...

We've now reagreed to offer £390k (which is what I suggested to him before we knew they had low offers (which come to think of it may have been a tactic by the husband)) and go upwards if we need to...
