    Where do you buy milk? It's still sold as 1 pint, 2 pint etc in Tesco & Asda (with the legal 568ml/1.136ml next to the volume)
    Our Tesco sells milk in 0.5L, 1L, 2L and 3L but thats from the local dairy. 75p, £1.39, £1.89 and £? prices respectively. Lidl sells 4 pints (2.2 something L) for £1.49.
    ETA Coop is selling Cravendale Pure Filter 2L bottles for £1.50 just now.

    Didn't know you get bread with the crusts removed. How do you know it was 800g? Best buy the original 800g if it is the same price and mash the dried crusts up for home made soup or sauce thickener, or breadcrumbs.
    Hovis BOB invisible crust is effectively more bread less crust and if you can get it on offer or whoopsied it can be reasonabe price wise.
    I have noticed that our Tesco always has whoopsied bread on a Sunday...Warburtons, Hovis, Weight Watchers etc!

    Whoopsied=reduced due to use by/sell by/BBE date.
    Bread normally has a use by date 2 days after sell by (you will often see (2) after the date stamp on the seal) so if you buy it reduced on eg the 11th it will likely have a use by 13th. I tend to buy it and freeze it. Most breads freeze well and I often get Hovis, Warburtons, Weigth Watcher etc reduced. Tesco own bread/muffins freeze ok, but not the bakery fresh bread stuff (goes crumbly).

    Sainsbury's less than 2% fat milk is only £1 for 4 pints. Tastes just like semi-skimmed

    2% is Semi-skimmed, isn't it? Do you mean their 1% milk?

    Yes but if you did that in advance with the whole loaf the outside edges of your bread would go all hard and stale, and it doesn't in the crustsaway.
    Surely that means they put something in it or do something else to stop it going stale :confused:
    That probably costs money. :rolleyes:
    This is my opinion. There are many others like it but this is mine
