Walkers Sensations (spare rib ones) introduced some "new, bigger bags" - 130g. Then they recently had a facelift. They've gone down from 130g to 120g. I only noticed because they had both kinds on the shelf in Asda. They must think we're stupid.

I've hardly visited these threads and have only recently discovered the Tesco thread. I'm astounded at all these 'reduced calories'.

It's the price jumps that get me I've known they're adjusted across different stores but the scale and frequency is dubious though.

I don't shop online but I am curious whether they manipulate the online supermarket prices depending on where you live.

It is like crusts away. 800g loaf, remove the crusts so you end up with a 400g loaf but the bread still costs £1.23.

But it has to be baked with a crust, surely? If they cut away the crust (instead of you) then it still has to be paid for. Why would it be cheaper?

Sainsbury's less than 2% fat milk is only £1 for 4 pints. Tastes just like semi-skimmed - great stuff! I think Tesco also do it, purple packaging and called something like The One.

In regard to milk 4 pints is around £1.60 now but in Tesco and Asda they have a 2 litre bottle for £1.06 which is cheaper by the ml.

Yes, we get the 1% milk if we can but it is not often that our local one has the orange one left, The One in Tesco has gone right up to around 1.40 so it is not worth it when you compare the price per ml.

if you have a farmfoods store nearby they stock Wisemans "the one" 2litre jugs at £1 :)
( as is the rest of their 2 litre jugs )

Asda have Arla 2 per cent milk at 92p for 2L which works out to be only slightly more costly than Sainsbury's 1% 4pint bottles.

Didn't know you get bread with the crusts removed. How do you know it was 800g? Best buy the original 800g if it is the same price and mash the dried crusts up for home made soup or sauce thickener, or breadcrumbs.

Yes but if you did that in advance with the whole loaf the outside edges of your bread would go all hard and stale, and it doesn't in the crustsaway.

I buy my milk from Farmfoods. They sell 2L bottles in both semi and full fat for £1.

We used to have a milkman who delivered us a 2L bottle 3 times a week and he charged £1.46. He always used to put the price up in line with Asda, but bear in mind that Asda's bottles are 4 pints (2.272L). So I wasn't happy about that and cancelled him as it was a rip off.

4 pint bottles of milk in Asda here are currently £1.53
