Do you need 4? To upgrade, you'll probably have to buy 4, and throw 2 away.

According to Crucial buy 2gb about £22 and will be compatable

Probably not. I just added another 4GB to my new(ish) Dell which originally came with 2GB, making 6GB. It came with 2x1GB fitted and two slots (1 dual channel pair) free, so I added 2x2GB.

So do you reckon me going from 2gb tp 4gb will be worth it

It depends what you want to use it for, but for £22, it's definitely not going to do any harm. I bought the extra memory to use with Photishop Elements and it's definitely been a good buy for me.
