I've been unable to get through to anyone using 18185 today, and know of two other people who've had the same problems. Is anyone else experiencing these problems?

I'm having problems with 18185 today also. I dial, and hear the "Zero pence per minute" message followed by total silence. The same problem appears to be happening with 18866 who I still have an account with.0 -
This happened throughout the morning. I sent 18185 a message through their customer service form, but don't expect to get a reply, as I've read that others with queries with them rarely get a reply.0

I've had that today, yet immediately redialled and it went through OK.
We get this occasionally and it is annoying as I presume once the "zero pence per minute" message is given then you pay the 5p connection, but it doesn't happen with any particular regularity, just now and again.0 -
Yes, happened to me too a couple of times recently. The upside is one failure and one success = 10p spent whereas with BT one success would cost a minimum of 12p.Time has moved on (much quicker than it used to - or so it seems at my age) and my previous advice on residential telephony has been or is now gradually being overtaken by changes in the retail market. Hence, I have now deleted links to my previous 'pearls of wisdom'. I sincerely hope they helped save some of you money.0

AFAIK even if you don't hear the message it still works.0

The 18185 service.
Oh, I see. I was having a senior moment then :rotfl:
I was just agreeing with the OP that I'd had the "zero pence" message before but it didn't connect me, just got a silence as though the call had disconnected altogether, but yes, I've had times when there was no message, got connected and it went through 18185.0 -

I thought I read somewhere that you only get billed if the person you call actually answers (including 1571 !
)
I also thought I read that if the person you called answers very quickly, the "Message" doesn't get chance to be read out!
But I may be wrong - so hopefully someone will confirm this!0
