SO ANGRY with 3!!!! Ciminal?

I got a call last night (yes sunday.... at 8pm)!!!! asking for £12 when the DD is setup to come out on wednesday ... this is the o/s balance of the account for this month.

I told them I had already spoken and do not wish to be disturbed by their underhand tactics on Sunday which is a day of rest, call me in business hours Mon - Fri 8am - 8pm.

He then said I must pay it NOW and do i have my wallet with me? I said it's none of their business, he then proceeded to say, I can setup a 3 way call for someone else to read my card details out!!!!!!

I went INSANE!!! This is ILLEGAL and very very underhand, i argued with him for several minutes about how unprofessional this manner was.

I wanted to warn everyone about ever touching 3 they are criminal and must not be used!

Does anyone have the e-mail for the exec's ?

    I don't think it is from three, it is more likely from three appointed debt collector.

  • Doubt it's a debt collector as the £12 is the rate i pay per month for the mobile "broadband" (it's worse than dial-up), bill date was 2 weeks ago and the DD is setup for this week.

    That's awful. I wouldn't believe they do that during the weekend. I used to have 4 contracts with them back to 2004, and now I just got 10 pounds/month contract due to their bad customer service. If not the free 3-3 calling minutes, I would have cancel the last contract.

    In addition, they chased money for your contract after a year of cancellations and their reason was, their system problem which caused them forgotten to billed the customer for the last month before the DD is cancelled.

    I think next month i'm going to buy out of the contract and get rid!!! it's not worth the hassle to be honest.

    Does the 3 mobile broadband really worst than dial-up as you mentioned earlier?

    Any test speed or experience that you may share? I am considering to signup one of the mobile broadband, just considering the network for now.
  • In my experience it's been awful, i think i mentioned in another post on MSE that i end up using my O2 N95 8GB bluetooth dialup as it's faster (though O2 compress images so they don't look as good).

    I travel for work, around heathrow, in london, edinburgh and even at home, the three dongle is rubbish!!! a lot of the time it has a good signal and registers it has HSDPA rates yet the internet runs so slow.

    I think it's a lot to do with their backbones are just getting too saturated with the number of users (a curse of offering cheap deals)!!!

    I have a Voda 7.2mbps and its a LOT LOT LOT better but can only use it for work!

    Edit: When I get home i'll take screenshots of the connection + speedtests.
  • We have used 3 mobile internet dongle ( my sons account) for the past 12 months, and really cannot fault the service that we have had from the equipment, we have always managed to get a connection wherever in the country we have visited! However, cancelling at the end of 12 months was a worry after hearing the horror stories on here. The last statement has just arrived saying the account has been closed. Hope that's the end of it.

    I must add that we only cancelled the account as it was in my sons name and he no longer lives in this country, we have now taken a T mobile sharedock, which seems to be very good up to now!

    I would not open an account with 3 because of the cancellation issues.

    Just check if they have taken the last month money from your bank account and keep the statement, just in case they do this to you. From my experience, 2 of my friends has gotten this problem and we didn't even know if they have taken the last month money because we never expect they request for money again after a year which bank does not keep a year of bank statement!

    Not kick off like that!!!! :rolleyes: I meant because i purchased it in store i might go in a try to settle it instore, which i've already been told by 3's 'Customer Service' I should do.
