For taste we use the Tesco finest olive spread - dairy free or to all intents and purposes for us - but Viatalite brings back so many memories“the princess jumped from the tower & she learned that she could fly all along. she never needed those wings.”

I can't see a Vegan Society logo. Next to the claim "suitable for vegetarians" there's a sloping V and a leaf, but nothing by the Vegan claimweaving through the chaos...0

My Mum bought Vitalite when I was younger & I still buy it now
I put a portion of sausage casserole in an empty tub tonight funnily enough. The only time it gets confusing is when I've got a tuna mayo mix in a tub & dh gets that out of the fridge to put on toast :rotfl:

I found this old thread about Vitalite and the tubs it comes in. As many of you know, Vitalite dropped the useful tubs and kitchens and workshops of the country will not be the same.
I regard this marketing decision as a real mistake - there must be thousands like me who, over the years, have re-used the Vitalite tubs for all sorts of things, from leftovers to nuts and bolts. They made great microwaveable dishes, super dessert bowls, fantastic student/camping crockery and excellent freezer containers.
I still like the taste of Vitalite, but there are many other margarines on the market that claim to do the same thing. The major selling point for Vitalite was the container - that tipped it for me.

A Google search pulled up this old discussion but I also found this:

Apparently Vitalite is REALLY bad for you. I'm sticking with olive oil.0
