Vitalite

I started using Vitalite spread, as opposed to Flora/Utterly Butterly spreads. It seems Vitalite is very good for you. Even suitable for Vegans, and only costs 83p for 500g tub. I am finding it tastes great, spreads easily, good to cook with too. The empty tubs are good containers too.

I get this as I have a child I look after who has been put on dairyfree diet - it's dairyfree and a darn sight cheaper than those soya substitutes!
Trying very hard to be frugal and OS - just plodding on and doing my best!

I love vitalite. I'm dairy intolerant so this is great for me. There is one called Pure but its awful in my opinion, no taste at all!

I haven't seen Vitalite for ages. Didn't actually realise it was dairy-free. Will have a hunt around - this will come in handy for my two dairy/lactose intolerant dgk's (6mths and 15mths).

I buy this too! Great value and the tubs are so sturdy, use them to freeze portions of soup for OH's packed lunches

Just a quickie to say that Vitalite isn't suitable for Vegans, sorry. ~

Vitalite is not currently suitable for vegans.

Vitalite was due to be changed to a vegan friendly product, however the launch was delayed, as it failed to meet the manufacturer's quality standards.

Dairy Crest, the manufacturer of Vitalite, apologise for any confusion caused and The Vegan Society also regrets that the situation has arisen. Dairy Crest and The Vegan Society hope to offer Vitalite suitable for vegans as soon as possible.

  • the tubs i buy have recently be changed. its used to say 'dairy free' on a red flash now it lists all its good points and actually says "Suitable for vegans". is this the launch you are talking about?

i buy it from morrisons or tescos and have got it from iceland in the past for anyone who is struggling to find it.

I am also a recent convert to vitalite. I think it tastes nice too, not like some of the spreads that taste like marg!! I have that and salt free butter for baby!

DD needs to avoid dairy, DH is allergic to soya - so when the supermarkets stopped stocking Pure I panicked!

Hooray for vitalite! glad to find it has a fan base here too! cheaper than Pure and those tubs are sooo useful (would fit in freezer better if they were square though...)

    Hi Moneypenny :hello:

I don't know  all I do know is the Vegan Soc site still says it's not suitable. Has the tub got the Society logo on it? or does it just say it's suitable? I'm not sure even why it's not suitable............................... I don't know much really do I? :D
