  • hi,
ive been reading everyones replies for weeks now and have finally plucked up enought courage to join in. im going to try start being money neutral and organised from today I am a self employed holistic therapist, and lucky enough to still have work although everyone is tightening their belts!

Why not make a Aromatherapy Massage oil for mother day/ gift - this can be put in the bath or used to massage.
20mls olive oil, almond or grapeseed .
7-10 drops essential oil of choice.
    pretty glass (dark)
    label
for every 10mls of base/carrier oil you can add 4- 5 drops of essential oil - use anything you have at home ( lavender, lemongrass, geranium, camomile, rose ) just make sure that the essential oils you use are suitable for use e.g lavender is great for all but, unsuitable for people with low blood pressure and if you are pregnant

have lots of recieps for smell stuff if anyone would like

  • Morning everyone :) Hope everyone is ok? and having a good day! Hugs to those who need them.

I sent OH up the school with my son this morning and so far have covered a bit of ground with washing ... I have folded up everything I have done so far and sorted out stuff which doesn't need ironing. My daughter is being a right madam, had a really bad day with her yesterday and can see today will be the same!

Today I plan to tidy up a bit as I didn't get anything done yesterday, finish rest of the washing, I want to try and do something crafty, although not sure what yet! I also want to scrub the floors in the kitchen, hallway and utility room, although hallway is full of boxes which OH keeps dumping and so I figure as he hasn't moved them in weeks I can throw them in the garage :rotfl:

Now I could do with suggestions, I want to make something for someone who is class as a very good friend. She has done a lot for me and helped me a lot aswell even though she probably doesn't realise how much! I know she loves hand made things, but I also know she doesn't get a lot given to her if that makes sense. Sooooooo can anyone throw some suggestions my way please? I was thinking about making up a dammit doll for her but I find them quite hideous? I thought about making up a sock monkey for her but I don't think I could make it as perfect as I wanted to. I'm not sure if she has a journal in a jar or not although she probably would have something like this but not sure if she would use it or not?

Can anyone help me please lol it's not often I am stuck for ideas but I am well and truly stumped on this one!

Hello everyone! Not been on this thread for ages and just wanted to see how you are all doing! So much to catch up on. You've all been so busy as usual.

I now have an extra little job in the afternoons when my DD2 is at nursery - delivering parcels in our village. I'm actually quite enjoying it and the extra money is very useful.

I managed to make pancakes last night and as baking is not my thing I was quite pleased when they turned out just like........pancakes!! Might have to do it more often.

Haven't been doing anything gift-wise but I'm still quite pleased with my 'haul' from the Christmas sales - shouldn't have to be buying anything for birthdays for the next while. However, if anyone has any ideas for gifts for a 16 year old girl I would be very grateful!! I gave her make-up at Christmas and I know my mum gave her a make-up bag. I normally end up giving her vouchers but I would like to give her something else (it's my niece by the way)

Anyway, nice to be back here!

    Love

    Hi there

I have a sixteen year old niece (going on 40), in my experience they love anything from Claires Accessories, New Look (voucher, I wouldn't dream of choosing clothes for her :rotfl: ), nail varnish and/or manicure (nails inc.?), I also did a "movie night in" bag for her (idea stole from another MSE'er), couple of DVD's, popcorn, big bag of maltesers/minstrels, couple of cans of diet coke, pringles etc., and she had all of her friends around and they had a great evening. Hope that helps!
  • Hello All!

    Great thread/subforum!!!

I am wondering if anyone can give me any inspiration for a present for a friend. She is a first time mother, aged 33 and currently on maternity leave. In the past I have bought (in my non MSE days) hadnbags, jewellery, books, make up bags and usually I spend £15, less if I can. Very much into looking nice and now is very much into her DS, who is gorgeous. Want to buy a present for HER and not for the baby - if you know what I mean!!

I do have an advantage card, but not sure how many points (can you check online?).....

    Thank you in advance.

Hi Rusty How about one of those weird soft toy things they have in the car adverts? they are quite cute and look easy to copy, might get some pics on the net if you google.
