Thinking of you sugarspun, they say that even though they are sleeping their hearing is the last to go and they do sense that you are there even though they can't talk back. Keep busy and keep your family close at this time. Your grandma will be looking down on your little one sugarspun.

Sugarspun - All the words in the world couldn't have beaten a bouquet of helium balloons being delivered at visiting time, just think how made up she was with them, and you know you did enough. I am thinking of you and so sorry for your loss, xxx

Sugarspun, I am so sorry for your loss. Know that your grandmother is at peace now away from the stinky food. My nan is getting on a bit and she told me once that she missed grandad so much (he passed away 8 years ago) and all she was waiting for was to know we was all happy before she went, as if she could let go at any time without fear. When I married her grandson (she is Lees nan not mine) she didn't need to wait for me to have children because all she needed to see was her children and grandchildren happy. That made me feel so peaceful about death and I hope it makes some sense to you too. I am always here for you x

    Thanks everyone.

We took the balloons out afterwards and let them go. They must have reached 1200 feet because one of them got caught in a thermal drift, and they flew for miles. Then we went for a family dinner at her favourite restaurant, and a random balloon bobbed into the room and just hung around halfway between floor and ceiling. I'll be keeping an eye out for future balloons.

Only just caught up - So sorry Sugarspun to hear about your Grandma I hope that, in time, that the memories of the happy times you shared with her will help to ease the sorrow you are feeling now. Each time you see a balloon you will remember her and that's what matters.........
