    HHC 10.30-11.00 anyone?

I had to bath DS2 thats what took so long, he's missed the last two nights of baths so i thought i'd better do it.
  • Morning all.

Taking it easy today. Have been trying to keep everything tidy but haven't really started the list but sure some things can be marked off.

I am in all day with little ones so shouldn't be too bad to do.

I have decided that I will not be doing much of the living room this week as DS and DD are in here. Will try and focus on the rest of the house. DH is of work again tomorrow :( so can try and do one of the upstairs rooms while he love after DD and DS.

    In my first HHC I:

Cleaned all the tiles behind the cooker - they were disgusting!
Cleared everything off the hotspot work surface and cleaned it - still need to sort it though!

    In my second HHC I:

Got a doll out of the loft
Emptied my saucepan and plastic tub cupboard
    Matched tubs and lids
    Put remainder for recycling

I have a number of margarine tubs and ice-cream tubs but I think I've got enough tubs without them as I don't use that much - shall I just recycle them?

SarahSH exactly my point  - i hate it when he shouts at them (well, for no apparent reason anyways) - i happen to shout at them now and then .. when things get out of control  - and i keep telling him to stop the shouting!!!! his reasoning 'they don't listen to him otherwise ...'

Mozzy, when children are shouted at they cannot hear what is being said, they only hear loud noise. Shouting makes it hard for them to understand what is being asked of them, they cannot distinguish the words nor the message being conveyed.

A simple trick, stand in another room and quietly say 'biscuits' a few times, believe me they'll hear you.;)

We have all shouted at our children, I know I did and still do (especially eldest DD at mo) but I learned that if I can try to stop my default setting being 'shouty parent' then, over time, communication is greatly increased which in turn means less stressful situations.

Maybe your OH is stressed and thats why he shouts at the children, perhaps you can talk to him and point out that it upsets you and the children when he shouts.

Ask him to try the 'biscuits' trick, or try it on him to prove a little point that you don't need to shout .:D

  • Morning!

Lazy morning here. Me and the girls are still in our pj's! Ended up reading some of the 'bathing kids' thread. Can't believe how a simple topic can turn into insults!

Anyway, on that note I'm off to have a nice hot shower!!!!!!

Then off to clean the bedroom.

    xx
