  • Can you flippin believe it.... the blasted water's off again!  Well, when I say off, of course I mean brown and murky!!! Yuck!!! At least I'd had a wash this morning!

Ahh well, got 4 girls here today. Very loud!!! They're doing 'make-up' hmmmm! should be interesting! :rotfl:

    So far
I've sorted the washing out into piles for each person, and dispatched them.
I've put away the blow up bed and sleeping bag
    Fed them all
Found and emailed a file that OH needs for work, but he'd left on the laptop.
    S&S the kitchen

Best get dressed, and make sure they're all ready.
I'm waiting for my friend so we can go bra shopping... Need a new one and have a bravissimo voucher :j :j

ETA : oh Julie, that's the kind of thing that makes you loose the will to live!!! how annoying!!!

My DS is into drawing tattoos at the moment - bl00dy great things too, mind you, they stick an needle in him and he'll pass out... :rotfl: can't see it somehow (He's 15 and going through a 'phase' - polite version - he'll see something shiny and forget all about them soon...)
I had a very mild 'mid-life crisis' when I turned 40 - I was a timeshare rep, working with a lot of younger people, I started going out to the pub straight after work with them, getting 'tipsy' most evenings, and basically enjoying myself and leaving hubby at home (complete turn around if you knew what we're like) anyway, point of this is that I had a tattoo then too - a lovely rose on my left sholderblade - HURT LIKE BL00DY HELL when I had it done, but I was no way going to have a black dot on my back so went through with it, it took AGES (or felt like it) and I'm a big woose and will never have another one I can assure you... :rotfl: :rotfl: (but I do love it, sadly)

I didn't grow out of it, I just haven't gotten around to it as other things keep coming up like my daughter! I am now thinking though that maybe a phoenix would be more appropriate than a sword dripping with blood or a rose wrapped in ribbon being pierced by the roses thorns :o:rotfl: The thing that surprises me is that I HATE needles  I hate seeing them pierce the skin, yet I'm talking about voluntarily going someone to have ink forced into my dermis by multiple needles at a rate of 80 to 150 times a second :rotfl::rotfl: See I've looked into it properly! I researched it to make sure I'm 100% sure I know whats what ;)

I've just been forcibly upgraded from Office 2003 to 2007 at work and it's driving me nuts... even Outlook is different
I kind of had this as well - I was trying to do work in school and they had Office 2007 on all their computers, whereas I had Office 2003 at home. I couldn't do the work at all unless I did it in notepad and then formatted it etc at home. Then I got an offer through the OU to buy Office 2007 Ultimate version for a fantastically cheap price so I did and I've installed it on both my laptop and my PC. Now DD is teaching me how to do things and where things are as she's used to using it in school :rotfl::rotfl:

nicki top girl for changing the settings by yourself!!!! :T
:D thanks... I think all the times ex spent sitting at the computer fiddling with stuff I must have subconsciously absorbed the knowledge so I actually understood what the techie was doing to my laptop ;) Next big job is for me to tackle the PC which is very very scary and make sure none of ex's programmes are still running on it ...:eek::eek: I will do it as I'm not stupid, its just a scary prospect ATM.

Get a christmas pressie box sorted as already getting a little stash together.:xmassign:
:T:T I already have my Christmas cards sorted but I didn't buy any gifts except DD's birthday pressies - she went to go find something the other day in the cupboard where its hidden and got a telling off :o When I told her thats because her birthday pressies where in there (and have been since December) she looked shocked since its not her birthday until the 5th April :rotfl: Now I've rejigged the boxes so her pressies are hidden in a lower one with 3 others on top ;) In a way I loved the Woolies closing down sale but on the other I really miss not being able to pop in and have a mooch :o

Just got my water bill - its gone up £2 per month:rolleyes: Not too bad as I'm on Direct Debit so get a £5 discount anyway, but that means that some months I'm going to have to drop my debt repayment amount so I can pay for stuff. I've budgeted to have £6 left for "treats" (we have film rental as our main treat but thats counted in with the bills ;) ) so if any other DD's go up then I think things are going to start looking interesting on the budget & debt repayment front
Anyways onto the flying... I'm going to tackle the whole house today inside and out  Everytime DD has gone away I've had pressing assignments to get done, or errands to run (or people to see ;) ) but not this time so I'm going to get stuck in. I have half a bottle of wine waiting in the fridge and a prawn curry a-la-ding in the freezer waiting as a reward ;) So here is my list...edited as appropriate including the extra jobs I need to do ;)

    Morning everyone,

Just caught up with the thread. Had a really long lie-in this morning (didn't get up til 10.15) as little black furry had curled up with me, and he hasn't done that for ages! He normally waits til everyone is out of bed before he gets up there.IMGP0016_48x48_c.jpg

Had a quick look at one of the council websites last night, and 1 school has posted an advert for 2 jobs (1 for 1 term - ideal for me to finish my last term, and the other for a year contract I think) so I'm going to get an application. I also read on TES (Times Educational Supplement) website, that teachers have until February 28th to resign for the end of the spring term, so there may well be a few jobs coming out. I'm sure that all of your flylady vibes had something to do with this job coming up!thankyou.gif

Sorry I missed you before I went, but Serena I hope you HSgreatday.gifin France.

My cat is my only baby (unless you count OH when he's ill lol), so will amend the list to suit:

    Level One
Air the bed in the master bedroom and remake it
OH to sort through all his clothes that no longer fit or are dead (on his list and a charity bag arrived this morning)
    Level two
Sort through a shelf of books or a box of stuff and see what needs to be binned and what can be rehomed (OH's list - 27 pieces of junk out)
    Wash the car windows
Hoover out the car's shelves and flat furry spaces
    Level three
Gather up ALL the dirty laundry and put it in the wash
Get uniforms and bags etc ready for school next week!
    Vacuum the floor!
    Extras
    1. Wipe all the sticky paintwork and walls
    2. Sit and watch a film together! Like a family!! no friends, noone escaping..
