Cazzie I had the paperwork earlier but dont have it now so cant check again what the exact course name was. Thanks for trying though. :)

I think it had something about Pan European Safety in the title but to be honest, I just glanced over that bit as I was more concerned about the prerequisite bit.

Not to worry, if he needs something he hasn't got, we'll just need to deal with it tomorrow. :)

Two possibilities: one is that this is standard 'bumph' for all courses, but that for some he would have to show a valid certificate from a previous course, which clearly he can't in this case. The other talk about expired certificates is that an out of date driving licence or passport is NOT acceptable as evidence of ID, at least not when I'm checking it. Some people turn up with driving licences not from their current address (I'm checking evidence of current address as well as what you look like!) or out of date passports or bank statements which are over a year old.

  • I've heard about what these RGIT courses are about.

It's safe to say that I'd never go near one. Upside down, submerged helicopter escape anyone?
    From Poland...with love.

    They are (they're)
    sitting on the floor.
    Their
books are lying on the floor.
The books are sitting just there on the floor.

Lol, PBS......it wouldn't be my cup of tea either but suffice to say I think both you and I might well be glad of people like my son who have done these courses and might be able to be of some help in an emergency situation. It's not all to do with oil rigs you know, water is everywhere and one day he might well be on the same ferry or cruise ship as you. ;)

Let's just be thankful that some people do. Otherwise we wouldn't have an oil industry either....
  • It sounds to me as if he needs certain previous qualifications or certificates before he's able to do the course. Would he have checked that he's eligible to do the course before applying for it?

It's his employer that's putting him through the course.

Oh well, hopefully they'll have checked everything out first. Hope that's the case, anyway.

Oh, believe me, I'm all too aware of how it could be used.

I'm just personally terrified of ever willingly undergoing such training :P

Not really worth worrying about, let alone posting about then, eh?

OP, I'm intrigued, do we have an answer today?!
