Opinions on Southern Elec please

I am with Southern Electic but not by choice, whilst I was in my old flat I didn't receive a bill for my gas for about 18 months, I was paying by direct debit and assumed I was paying enough. It wasn't untill we phoned up to say we were moving that they then looked and realised I owed them about £700 for gas and about £500 for electric!!
As it was their fault for not telling me I wasn't paying enough they took some money off and charged me at a reduced rate. I have now carried the amount over to my new flat, but they wanted me to pay about £50 a month electric and £70 a month gas before paying any of my old bill off. I am on my own earning just under £13,000 and can't afford to pay that.
Still waiting to see what my bill is for the past few months, everyone seems to have got theirs by now except for me. If it's not here by monday next week I will be phoning them up.*~* My life is a little mystery that I am still trying to solve*~*0 -
I deal with most of the big 6 suppliers very regularly (unfortunately) Southern are probably my favourite to deal with. I deal with Managed Housing / Groups at Perth and Metering / Supply at Cardiff - superb service.
When I have to go through the call centres the service is still generally quick and efficirnt. (ps I have dozens of accounts with them and they are one of the few suppliers which I would allow my company to be in this situation with - they hold accounts in my company name but one quick phone call can sort out any problem)
PS in answer to most of there staff being English - a large proportion are in fact Scottish or Welsh!Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. If you’re not sure why please read the forum rules or email the forum team if you’re still unsure - MSE Forum Team0 -
Their CS is quite good, but they are still capable of making monumental f***ups like trying to charge me for 2 of my neighbours gas and electricity- a saga which went on for months.I shot a vein in my neck and coughed up a Quaalude.

Excellent!! They have been very helpful with my meter traumas, something which NPower haven't been able to do, and even gave me money off my bill for not being able to sort my problem quickly enough.0
