Hi guys,
Just fishing for any opinions on Southern Electric.
Not their tarrifs, more what their customer service is like etc.
I'd be grateful for any feedback.
Thanks all

I have dealt with their customer services team as a customer of ebico.
I must say that in comparison to many of the other CS teams of the other big 6 I have spoken to, they fully deserve the general opinion that they are at least one of the best.
But there is still ample room for improvement
(which doesn't say much about the others does it)"Now to trolling as a concept. .... Personally, I've always found it a little sad that people choose to spend such a large proportion of their lives in this way but they do, and we have to deal with it." - MSE Forum Manager 6th July 20100 -
Agreed, once you are a customer the customer service is fairly good.
Their door-knockers on the other hand are some of the worst in the business in my experience and to me that reflects badly on the company as a whole.Missing Tesco R&R since Feb '07 :A & now a "Tesco veteran" apparently!

Hello! I've been a customer with Southern Electric for many years (both Gas & Electric) and I find them very good. Their CS line is FREEPHONE, they are open eves & w/ends, I find them very helpful and most of them are English so I can understand what they are saying to me. It is also easy to get thru to a human being - not like these awful phone systems (eg Nationwide) where you get locked into a system that is determined not to let you get through to anyone!
God luck.0 -
Hello,
Been with Southern Electric for just over a year (dual fuel) and so far been quite impressed with their CS by phone. Their high ratings on this was one of the reasons I picked them. Much better than previous supplier!
Response to e-mail tends to be a bit slow, but they do usually respond.0 -
Yes Number 3, pleased with SE....they have caller ID, and that is linked to your account, or the account that goes with that phone number. So instant screen for them, then a security question and away you go.
And, having moved to Scottish Power, for the cashback, the process of leaving was smooth, gas was owing and electric was owed. All settled within 10 days., and a nice touch on the final statements, "we recognize you have a choice of energy supplier so thank you for your custom".
The other big boys could learn a lesson from them.0 -
I had a mix-up with my gas meter when I moved into a new property - the builders had mixed mine up with the neighbours and vice versa. Whilst the current gas supplier wouldn't help, SE took over the problem and resolved it all for me. They are very helpful and friendly, unlike some of the other big companies!0

I've only needed to call them a handful of times, but when I did they were very helpful and setting up DD was very quick and easy.0

Whilst all energy companys will have customer horror stories, Scottish power always score best, and n power worst.Sunny in Southampton.0

Is Scottish Power really the best?littletommytucker wrote: »Whilst all energy companys will have customer horror stories, Scottish power always score best, and n power worst.0 -
uswitch and energyhelpline both have EDF out front on cust. service (closely followed by SP). npower seem to always come out worst in every 'poll' I've seen, lol. Which have it slightly differently:
Supplier: Cust. Satisfaction Score:
Utility Warehouse 72%
SSE 60%
Scottish Power 49%
E.on 44%
EDF 43%
British Gas 40%
npower 32% (OUCH!)Call me Carmine....
HAVE YOU SEEN QUENTIN'S CASHBACK CARD??0
