  • SandraScarlett, I had tears in my eyes as I read your post. :(
  • Arrived, full of hope and expectation at Bluewater to find:

And then I said "Do you know, it costs nothing to say 'I'm sorry' and yet those words choke some people". I just couldn't get out the place quick enough, and sat outside crying for about 10 minutes.

SS you must complain about this complete b***h esp if her mother had had BC as well, she should have been more understanding.

Plenty of SA' s to confirm what happened as well for you when they hopefully follow it up. I fully appreciate that it would be too painful and upsetting to recall it by phone so an email to customer services would probably be a bit easier as she is no doubt speaking to lots of other customers like this as well. When, oh when will people employed in serving the public understand what that role involves.....serving the public, not reducing them to a state of tears as a result of their bullying. This mad be so very angry. Don't let the b***h get you down. x

With Manufacturer's coupons you should be able to use one for each product you buy as they should be counted as cash.

I was talking to a manager today and when you spend £5, the till tells the SA to give both the No7 and the wrinklie, but they hadn't got the new ones in yet. I showed her my receipt from the other day when I had spent £6.02 and didn't get a voucher at all, she gave me a wrinklie and I said I would have sooner have had a No7 so I could get the hand cream, she told me to ask her again next time I was in and she'd let me have one:T

Hmmm. Just checked my receipt from earlier and it shows that I should have had one of the skincare/haircare vouchers as well as the No7 voucher, but only the No7 was given.
  • The Pp boday lotion 's half price offer was ended till yesterday, the no 7 told me today when the price turned up at 24, however if you still see the hald price offer then they should still over ride it, but the till would not accept the GWP as less than £18. so I have to pick up a hand crean and used what ever i got coupons , she tried few and all accepted so i end up paying £12.50 for PP body and hand lotion +GWP 250 points.

Arrived, full of hope and expectation at Bluewater to find:

P & P serum full price (though it was still half price after midnight)

They wouldn't take my £5 voucher anyway, cos that was off skincare, even though were more than willing to take it last week
    They had no Pinkies

The T & D had a SEL price of £6.86 instead of £5.86, and the SA got shirty when I asked her to scan it, and it was £5.86

SA got really shirtier with me when I bought my boring stuff, cos I produced the over £25 voucher, and then later, relayed this to a group of staff at the No 7 counter - just as I was coming up behind her

I listened to her, watching the other 3 members of staff, and a supervisor, and when she'd finished, I tapped her on the shoulder and said "Excuse me, but have you finished talking about me"

She scuttled off, and I asked if I could see the Manager, and the supervisor, who was the one who was rude to me last week, said "I'm the Manager".

I said I believe you told me last week you were a supervisor. She said that the manager wasn't in, and she was in charge, so I asked if she thought that was a professional way for a member of staff to act.

She said she hadn't heard all the conversation, but she had been there from when I arrived. So I said it would have been nice to have had an apology, and that I didn't come shopping to be upset, to which she said "well, you don't look very upset to me".

I asked what her criteria for "looking upset" was, and what expression I should have. And should I be shouting, or talking quietly, as I was. She replied "as I said Madam, you don't look upset to me".

So I said "I probably don't look like I've got Breast Cancer either, but I have." At this, all the other SAs looked at me in horror. But still this supervisor didn't say anything. The No 7 girl who was packing my stuff gripped my hand, as I now had tears pouring down my face, and she looked at the supervisor, and then at me, and said "I'm so sorry".

And still the supervisor said nothing, and then she looked at me, like she was smirking, so I asked if she wanted to see my Macmillan card, and the other SAs were frozen. Then she said "That's not necessary, my mother died of BC last year".

So I said "And what would your reaction have been if she had come home and relayed the identical story that I'm going to relay to my daughter about what happened today to me?" And still she said nothing, but sniffed a bit.

I thanked the No 7 SA for her professionalism, her courtesy, her helpfulness, and her compassion, and said I would be telling HO how impressed I was with her.

And then I said "Do you know, it costs nothing to say 'I'm sorry' and yet those words choke some people". I just couldn't get out the place quick enough, and sat outside crying for about 10 minutes.

I certainly shan't tell my DD who would go up there, guns blazing, and though I shall compliment the No 7 SA, via an email to CS, I just can't cope with going through the whole thing with CS.

So, miserably, we went to Lakeside on the way home. What a difference. The SA on the No 7 saw me looking at the P & P, and said they'd only heard that morning that it was going back to full price, and had I seen the new £5 vouchers. I said that I hadn't and she said "here you are then" and gave me a Pinkie, which I think looks so gorgeous, and shiney, and such a lovely sort of lilacish colour.

Then I bought some boring things and got another, Dee wombled one left on the floor and I wombled a Wrinklie and Hairy from the baskets, so that made up for the miserable morning.

I still have a No 7 P & P £5, which suddenly can't be used on Body, even if I wanted it at full price! But joy of joys, my twin Shinies are nestling in my brag book, which I shall put under my pillow tonight!

    xx

Oh my gosh - Sandra I'm almost speechless (which is unheard of - just ask anyone who knows me!!!) that sounds horrendous - can't believe you were treated that way - well its umm tbh I just really don't know what to say, I find it unbelievable how truly awful some people are. Anyone would think you were trying to rob a bank or something!! Goodness me you were only trying to take advantage of the 'advantage' system put in place by Mr B afterall!!!

I'm sooo glad that things improved at Lakeside but just so sorry you had to go through that in the first place. I feel very sad thinking of you sitting at Bluewater crying thanks to that horrible moo moo!!

I too am loving the new plinky-purply (have we decided what its called yet?) and so pleased that it makes you smile too!! I'm thinking up ways already to be spending them - just really wish my new card would turn up so I could be getting my own £5 P&P vouchers from the ACM instead of keep having to get them off lovely ladies on here!! Hoping to be able to get my P&P Foundation this way!

    Sorry for chatting!!

Take care Sandra nite nite x
  • Ss Your story really saddened me. To think that awful woman made you cry and you were outside crying for 10 minutes. :( I have tears in my eyes for you. You poor thing, I am actually a bit gobsmacked. I would be taking it further, it's just disgusting. Huge hugs, we all love you. xxxx
    'They only had one cow!'
  • Oh SS, ive got tears in my eyes reading your post, i am so sorry that this happened to you. I work in breast screening and so this subject is very dear to me and i am so appalled as to how you have been treated. Boots is a "health & beauty" retailler and therefore staff should be well aware that people with health concerns may be in their premisis:rolleyes:!!! My long winded point being, that they should be sensitive to their customers needs and should take into account that customers may be in there store for those health reasons, and even if they are not there is still no excuse. OOOOhhhh, im so mad for you , i do hope you are ok lovely.
You laugh because I'm different......I laugh cause I just farted!

Better to remain silent and be thought a fool than to speak out and remove all doubt. (A.C)

Oh no,reading about your day made me feel sad, as your shopping trips are normally filled with laughs, successes and pleasure, with just the right amount of assertiveness when needed! Sorry this one didn't quite go like that, although I like the fact that you didn't let it stop you going into a different Boots. I think I would have been so upset I'd have just gone home.
I don't understand what the SA's problem was. Why was she upset that you used a over £25 voucher? I don't get it at all!!

    Anyway, keep smiling.

I went to Leeds Albion Street (didn't find anything of real interest). Then went to Crown Point (bought a Olay Regenerist Serum set, reduced from £25 to £12.xx, cost £7.xx with a wrinklie) (There were a few of these, if anyone's interested). There were a few men's items reduced - gillette aftershave balm, nivea shaving gel, they're the only ones I can remember!

Then went to Wakefield. Not much of interest, except a couple of Roc Christmas sets including beauty bag, eye lift cream, night lift cream, reduced from £35 to £17 (£12 with Wrinklie). Bought a load of baby stuff but didn't give me triple points, so will have to take in receipt to see if I can get them added on!

    SS,

Im sure we have all been touched by this awful disease somewhere in our lives, my mum, (she is 9 years clear now:T). Well done for your dignity and poise. Congrats on being fabulous and eliquent. (sp). The supervisor had no right to be so mean to you or anyone. I feel sorry for her, she must be very sad inside.

You are great, thanks for your posts. LOL and crying too.

  • ((((SandraScarlett))) that's awful but well done for sticking up for your self.
An SA moaned about me to other sa's before i even walked away from the till when i tried to use my ROC voucher on a clearance product she really went into a rant about me just because i had asked her poiltely to try and see if the till acepts it and not just to say no to me without even trying. I was fumming but am such a wimp i wouldn't say anthing.

It wastes more engery and effort being nasty than nice!

I think some SA's do need to go back to training.
:)Mummy to 2 wonderful boys :)
