  • totally off topic, the schools here went back on Tuesday/Wednesday!
only had 2-3 days off (depends on inservice days, catholic or non dom schools here)
  • So, am i right in thinking that by using the perkie along with the P&P vouchers, the till takes money off the rest of your shopping if products purchased are less than £10? Also, can i ask, what is the Pink Loreal bag GWP? does anyone have a pic of this?

Wasn't the pink suede bag last year's GWP? Was looking at it earlier while sorting my stuff out...

I can't wait till schools back as my DD's school is near my local Boots, so it would be rude not to pop in twice a day during term time :rotfl:

Edit: I also like all the purdy bottles. My husband walked in on me earlier when I had all my Boots goodies laid out on the bed and I was staring at them adoringly :o, I think he would have looked less shocked if I'd had another man in their with me :rotfl:;)

I like the pretty bottles too. I used to stick with the things that I knew, ie: Simple soap and water, supermarket own brand shampoo etc and keep all the Boots goodies in my stash for pressies. One day I realised how ridiculous this was, it must be years of self conditioning and being a thrifty mum, made me feel a little guilty about buying nice things for myself :o .
I binned all my basics and now I actually use all my goodies for everyday. Out went my cranky old hairdryer and straighteners and in came the shiny new Lee Stafford Box of Tricks.
I got a couple of grab bags from Lush this year too, when I went to put everything away I found loads of Lush goodies that I'd put away last year, intending to give them as gifts. It's been Lush baths every night since :rotfl:

That would be great if that happened lol.

    Oh well, I can dream

Am I a bad Mum? I'm looking forward to the schools starting again tomorrow so I can head down to Boots on my own to spend the last of my hairies and wrinklies :o

Nope, you're a considerate Mum - my DD detests Bootsing with me, so I only really get to Boots to my hearts content on Sundays (OH's day off), on my lunch hours during the week, or if I manage to bribe DD into coming into town with me :rotfl: .

It is indeed - Mr B is trying to push it with a £15 spend on L'oreal......

Wish I could live up to it :D The ones I've seen were the smaller stores in East Yorks. Not much help I'm afraid, but the ones I've seen have all been marked as £1.72 on SEL :)

Talking about passion/ romance etc, all this bootsing has got me spending more time looking after my skin etc especially got me using body, foot creams etc. Anyhow i asked the dh wether he had noticed any difference in my skin , specifically my feet, elbows and knees( all of which are quite dry) So he says " dun know, dont really look at those bits":eek::rolleyes:. Romantice eh!!!
You laugh because I'm different......I laugh cause I just farted!

Better to remain silent and be thought a fool than to speak out and remove all doubt. (A.C)

    [snipped ...]

    I thought I was too, but there's a 50+ option :rotfl: Or should that be :( ... ;)
I don't know about you passion8 but I feel that 50 just kinda crept up on me when I wasn't paying attention. Oh to be 49 again :rotfl:
  • Agreed... I recently started using L'Oreal revitalist (or summat!) and my skin has never felt so d-r-y... back to Olay :)

Went to Beckton on Friday. WHY do people persist in opening every single cosmetic on display? Oooh this one is (eg:) sky blue, so's this, lets CHECK! and leave the opened one on the shelf and take an un-opened one to the till...

OH has to drag me out :o before I challenged someone... Gonna get myself in danger one day!!

Loads of suncream @ £1 a bottle... OH says, stack up for our hols... only £1 a go... I says, I already did, 88p a bottle (with wrinkly ;)) :D

That drives me mad, too! People do that in TJ Hughes, too, and I had to check loads of Urban Decay eyeshadows before I found one that didn't have fingermarks in it! They'd even had to take them out of the boxes to do it, and it's not as if they couldn't see the colour through the clear packaging

I don't have an OH anymore, and have to bribe the kids with McDonalds or a meal in the chippy if I want to go into town at weekends or during the holidays lol. Even then, it's hard to concentrate on getting the best deals when there's someone saying "Can we go home yet?"
