I do this too. I think Bootsing is really very therapeutic and is helpful when you are feeling stressed as it gives you something to focus on which has nothing to do with the things you are stressed about! Of course, that's not always the case as, if you have a bad bootsing trip, it adds to your stress. So far, I've not had a really awful bootsing trip yet, but know I'll crumble when I get a really mean SA.
Also.....(more on topic), Doncaster Frenchgate yesterday had a load of the Nivea DNage tube things for £4 on clearance (i.e. free with wrinklie). Sorry if that's already been mentioned - still catching up!0 -
Oh what a lovely day! :j Left home at 9.30 and got back at 9 tonight. We went to Romford Brewery first:
Shops 1, 2, 3 & 4
John Frieda Serum £1.95, used Hairy - nothing to pay
I have had so many 27p Time Delay thingies, all of which I give to the Bootsing Virgin, who is now an Old Tart and getting loads herself, so I'm not using them.
So then we went to Liverpool Street, and Dee got
Shop 5
3 for 2 Sumptuous Bath Soak, GWP
Over 60s discount £14.94
Less 250 points from old GWP, less 100 points ACM
Less £5 Perkie = £6.44 in Boots logic, received Wrinklie/Hairy and Perkie
Then I got
Shops 6 & 7
P & P Serum GWP
Over 60s discount £16.65
Less 250 points
Less £5 Perkie, Less £5 acm = £3.15 in Boots logic, received W/H and P
Then we went to Farringdon, and walked in the brilliant February sunshine, carrying our coats, to the Little Bay restaurant. We both had the Crab Tartelette, a Salmon Fillet, stuffed with Salmon Mousse, Spinach and er, um chips cooked in goose fat (which are to die for!) followed by the Chocolate Bavaroise, with Passion Fruit Cream and Almond Biscuits and Coffee.
Once again, the waitress brought the bill for £3.90 for the coffees, and I started to go through the rigmarole about we couldn't afford what it was worth blah blah, so she called the Manager over.
I'm going to describe him to the "Ladies Who Have An Over 60s card", as early 40s and a cross between Sacha Distel and Rossano Brazzi, and you'll get an accurate picture, and for younger readers, let's just say dot dot dot!!!!
He said "'allo bee-yoo-tee-ful ladeez, eez zare a problem?" I melted! I explained we could only really afford £15 between us and 'e said, I mean he said "eet iss my plez-ierre to 'ave you bee-yoo-tee-ful ladeez in 'ere, zat ees more than enough for me"!!! :smileyhea
OMG!!! There was much bowing and scraping and embracing when we left, though I expect as soon as we left he probably said to one of the waiters "'ere 'arry. Don't let them 2 ol' gels come in 'ere again." :rotfl:
Then we got the bus to High Holborn, and when we got there, the driver used a mike and said, in a Gawd Luvaduck voice: "Hi 'ave some news. This is where the diversion will start and it'll take six years!!!"
We were right outside S***rdr*g, so I went in with my coupon from The Express and got my free £2.49 toothbrush. Then we got the tube to Bond Street.
Dee was like a woman possessed, picking up Wrinklies & Hairies, as well as several Perkies, especially by Pharmacy, where people tend to collect their haemerroid cream, or Exlax in a hurry, and go.
We then got a Meal Deal each to eat after the show, so I got these with my points, and (London prices) they were:
Shop 8
2 x £3.49, less over 60s discount = 628 points and Dee gave me her £3.14, cos I had lots of points.
Then, because she had vouchers and Perkies and still has room in her cupboards, Dee did
Shops 9 & 10
Sumptuous Bath Soak
over 60s discount £7.48
less 100 points ACM 250 points GWP
£5 Perkie = minus £1.02 in Boots logic
Then we went to Oxford Circus branch, and I let Dee have a great time wombling and she did
Shops 11 & 12
Same as 9 and 10!!
Then we walked to Regents Street, which was packed, got the bus to Piccadilly Circus, and there we both did
Shops 13, 14, 15, 16, 17 & 18
John Frieda Serum £1.95, nothing to pay with Hairy - I gave all these to Dee, but I bought
Shops 19 & 20
John Frieda Spray £2.44, used Hairy, 44p to pay
Then I noticed that they had melon and mango slices in their meal deal, whereas I could only get grapes in Bond Street. So I picked up the m&m, and took it to a manned till, and asked if I could exchange my grapes for the m&m.
"No probs" said Michael.I gave him my receipt and card, and he scanned my items including the grapes, adding the points back, then took the card out, put it back in again, and scanned them, this time including the m&m.
The whole time he was having a conversation with the female SA on the adjacent till, and I said "I do hope I'm getting the right points Michael" and he said "No probs",and continued talking to the SA, like Jack The Lad.
When we got into the theatre I looked at my receipts. Clever Michael had credited me for 477 points (I had used 314 so he added back more than he should have done!), and cos he was so busy talking, he had somehow pressed the wrong button - and my sarnies, drink and m&m, were scanned at .........£0.00!!!!!!
And, still jawing, darling Michael put a Wrinklie/Hairy and a Perkie in the bag! Plus I was given £4.77 more in points whilst he chatted up the SA!! :T
Then we saw Thriller which was awesome!!! I cannot recommend this enough. The music was terrific and the dancing was fantastic.
After the show, we had a coffee and then Dee said "I'm sorry, I can't help it" and she pushed through the crowds to Boots, looked in the baskets, and by the tills, and yes, she found more Wrinklies/Hairies, so we had
Shops 21, 22, 23, 24
John Frieda Serum £1.95, nothing to pay with Hairy
and we each wombled 2 more Perkies!!!! Worked out on the way home that between us we had received about £300 worth of goods, theatre tickets, and wonderful food and had spent between us about £60 and nothing on fares!!!
So, the moral of the story is, whatever your age, state of health and contents of your purse ............It's A Wonderful Life!!

Just returned from meadowhall, must have been all the dragon sa's on today. Would not let me use £ 5 P+P voucher and No 7 voucher together on the N7 P+P Handcream, bought toni and guy shampoo £ 4.88 £ 2.88 after hairy and would not let me use the 150 points voucher, They had loads of the nivia dnage at £ 3.50 reduced near the ss tills and she would not let me use the wrinklie on that. So still have 5 wrinklies and 3 hairys to use. Will try sheffield tomorrow hopefully with a bit better luck.
Blimey, what a bunch of meanies!! You weren't allowed to use ANYTHING! I've often found this at Meadowhall, although some staff are great there! I know there's been some trouble at Meadowhall in the past, so I think they are maybe more vigilant than others?0 -
SS, what a day.0

Till beeped this morning on the fab No7 spectacle case & also on the big No7 makeup box (both from the new range), & SA said 'NO', so I assumed it will be the same for all the non cosmetics. Didn't try the SS tills.
The new range looks very smart: I thought the old black quilted style was a bit like school anorak material!
What does this makeup box look like, please, and where in Boots do they put them (ie, what with)?0 -

If luxor4t is on about the No7 make-up box that I think she is, it's the same as the big black Christmas set one but without the make-up included. It was with all the accessories and nail stuff.
If this wasn't the case she saw, then please ignore me!0 -
I thought that would have been the case. Often these promotions are never quite as good as the normal item sold in the shop. Glad I didn't go back out for it (had forgotten when I had been out this morning).
Anyway sorry for being off topic. On topic errrm I love Boots.:D Oh just thpught of something Boots related - this morning I was going to get the 1/2 price No7 lash mascara someone said they had got, but my local Boots mascaras were all about £11.xx (I got the lash one price checked).
Does anyone know if reading have any reduced haircare or any clearance please?'They only had one cow!'0 -

Ah, thank you
I really like that box - great for organising makeup or even jewellery. I was in the accessories and nail aisle in Maidstone today, and there were no boxes there at all. I'll keep a look out for them, though.0
