Which part of the country are you in?
The bridal shop I got my dress from had lots of bigger sizes.
It might be worth you phoning a few in your area and letting them know your time scale and size, and see what they say.Mummy to Thomas born April 27th 2010 8lb 5oz0 -

hi, how about BHS seperates? perfect for a registry office wedding, and you wouldnt have to worry about lots of alterations because of the top/bottom sizes x0

Have a look at this 70% off seperates and still have sizes that would fit you.

Hi
I can highly reccomend Bravissimo for wedding underwear. I'm an F cup and have a strapless dress. I was worried about the support as have never risked strapless before but I got a basque and it's perfect. They had some with tummy support panels too - a must for any relatively new mummies like me!!
I'd go for separates you're more likely to get a good fit rather than requiring expensive alterations.
Good luck x0 -

I am finding it very hard to get a dress all the Bridal Shops have said I am far too late now in ordering a dress - I have been looking at Prom Dresses as I want a full length quite full in the skirt dress, however all the shops seem to just stock small sizes, anyone have any ideas as to what I could do, I dont mind travelling any distance if I am able to get a dress that fits (somewhat with alterations) and something I like.
I was thinking of ordering off the EBAY site sweet send however I am a unusual size of 18 - 20 on top and 14 - 16 on bottom.
Any advice would be really appreciated.
Thanks
Look in BHS, they have wedding dresses plus they sell wedding skirts and bodices separately so that you can mix n match your sizes.

I would recommend Debenhams for speed, style, value and design.
I have bought my dress for my wedding in April at Debenhams. The range is much better 'in the flesh' than the website suggests, there is a good selection of separates and the whole thing was fuss free and my dress was delivered within a week (you can often take them straight home but they didnt have my size in their store room). I got change from £300 and I know that it wont be at all out of place in a registry office, despite it being full length and ivory!
Good luck - there are a lot of places who will try their best to convince you to part with a month's salary for a dress you will only wear once (despite various intentions...!)

If you buy a dress off the shelf that fits you on the bust, a dressmaker should be able to bring the rest in. That's what they would do in a bridal shop but their dress would have to be shipped from half-way accross the world first. Maybe look one up a local dressmaker in your yellow pages, give them a ring and ask a few questions first.
Oxfam have bridal wear shops that I've heard are quite good with a very large selection. I saw a size 16 lady of TV go there and was very happy with the amount of choice. Take a look at their website. http://www.oxfam.org.uk/shops/content/bridal.htmlDon't listen to me, I'm no expert!0
