First 624 @ 7.203 and next 17887.68 () at 3.632p (of course we're looking to switch at some point!) but still really disappointed by this bill.

I think there's a combination of factors here - if you mean Sept 8th - Dec 24th, that's a long quarter. Secondly, you pay a lot for each kwh. Thirdly, you're using a lot of gas! We used that in our last house. Our present house is smaller, although not much now we've converted the cellar and it's mid terrace rather than semi detached. We heat less water because we have a combi boiler now and the boiler is more efficient.

Sorry cardew, was abbreviating 'now' to '=' for space in the Title bar.

    That's it.

The problem of course is the over-estimated meter reading on your previous bill - and probably several bills beforehand.

It seems a bit odd that they have chargedc you for negative consumption rather than cancel the last bill, which might make more sense (easier to understand), especially as the start read was estimated.

If they had cancelled the bill, they would be refunding all of the kWh used at the present high price of 3.59p(before VAT)

The OP 'paid' for those kWh at 2.43p and 2.72p.

This makes a difference of over £100 in favour of the company.
