Amazon problem.

Hi guys not sure where to post this.

I bought something from amazon earlier this evening which was a bargin, however saw the same item cheaper somewhere else.

I bought it again from the cheaper site, and went back to amazon to cancel. My problem is that amazon wont let me cancel because apparently its going to be dispatched soon and the only link is for the returns section.

I dont want the item from amazon any more but cant cancel, I tried ringing amazon but no ones there, so they're not really able to say its ready for dispatch.

My credit card company are no help. What do I do?

Try again on Sunday and if you still can cancell just send it back when you get it for a refund.

I've tried ringing them but unlike what is said on the website, that they are getting the item ready for dispatch their hours of business are Mon to Sat.

I'll ring them on Mon and wont accept if it does get delivered to me surely they can't charge me.

Yes they can charge you as you placed the order, in fact the funds in your account have probably already been set aside by the bank.

Just do as the others have said, and when item arrives phone Amazon and ask for a returns number. Once it is returned it takes a week or so to have your money returned. Just make sure it isn't an item that cannot be returned.

I believe you're allowed to send anything back as long as you do it with 7 days under distance selling. The thing that is annoying me is that its blatantly not dispatched, yet they wont let me cancel.

Most companies are like this. If the item is due to be despatched, its too late to cancel

Its not Amazons fault you decided to go else where you can always send it back under distance selling act as long as you do it within 7 days and only inspect the goods

so there does not have to be a cut off point then between when you order and when they dispatch
