I'm not being funny, I selected the free delivery what is it 4 to 6 days and I decided to cancel an hour later. I bought about 2200hrs so no one was working and they definitely dont work today.

Basically they can't say its ready to dispatch because there was no time for it to be ready.

really, you think everyone rolls in at 9am tomorrow and amazon pixies have got all the orders ready to go?
its a big company working on a massive scale
just bacause CS arent working doesnt mean there arent people working
those working will work through orders on the computer.

How about informing Amazon by email that you wish to cancel under the Distance Selling Regulations and when (if) the item arrives, simply ask the courier/postie to return it to sender as a refused/rejected delivery. That way you won't incur return postage costs and it will get back to them quickly and in its original condition.

Again I'll mention I chose the 4 - 6 day delivery option. It takes long enough for them normally to process an item why all of a sudden is it processed in an hour?

I think thats what I'll have to do Crabman.
  • when the order is delivered, refuse to accept it. I eas told to do this once when i ordered something from NEXT and thwn changed my mind. it worked. Then when you get an email or phone call for re-delivery say you want to cancel order

For one I've not been on here that long, the next one I didn't know there was that section, its a big site and I'm not even half way through.

Just to clarify I spent about 4 hours searching for a decent deal and thought I had found it, bought it then just happened passed a better one that wasn't listed in any of the places I'd done my research.

I've been able to cancel an order I'd place a hour before even with next day delivery, suddenly I'm unable to do it. I don't want the item, don't want to incur charges and can't do anything about it. Until its dispatched its is just a cancelled order once dispatched its subject to returns policy.

What amazon is doing is saying "we've not dispatched it but you cant cancel, oh and even though we've not dispatched it and can't for two days its now subject to returns policy where you a liable for delivery charges."

    Thats not on.

but you can refuse the item and incur no charges
    it costs amazon money infact
the point is they are a large company and its not always possible to meet the whims of fickle buyeers
