the best contract

hi all
was wonder if i could get some advice on a mobile contract
i dont have a mobile at the moment so cant try quitting with my current supplier and bartering a good deal
what im after is a decent enough amount of texts say 100 and about 700 mins cross network does anyone know of any good deals
also i see the paper (think is was the sun) that some company or other is offering a phone on a contract and they will give you a free ipod is this a con or what has anyone seen these adds there everywhere at the moment
