Hi,
I had a Bamix which I bought at the Royal Cornwall Show about 25 years ago. I used it so much I wore it out!! So, I have just ordered another on Ideal World. That is the best price I have found. I have been wanting a new one for some time. I wish I hadn't thrown the grinder away as it would have been a very useful spare.
I can't wait for it to arrive. I have been using a cheaper, but good make, one but it has never come up to the standard of the Bamix. Not nearly as versatile.
If you 'Google' Bamix you can find a lot of recipes and hints as to how to use it. The sites usually have a recipe book for sale as well. Google 'Bamix spares'. Not too expensive but it would tell you just how to use this wonderful little machine.
Hope this helps and you really enjoy your Bamix.

I've never had a stick blender before and I'm not sure how much I'll use it. I've just got a cheap Phillips one in the sale and promised myself if I find I get the use out of it I'll treat myself to a Bamix when the current one dies. I've always found that you get what you pay for with kitchen equipment. Like daska I have weak hands and want something that can do the jobs I find hard.0

In case it helps, I found Amazon are doing a bamix (referred to as a Gordon Ramsay model) at £117 it fits the spec from the Ideal World TV special, just the stand looks different.
Am hoping for a little extra something in my March pay packet that can allow me to justify buying it - looks great - and some great reviews here too!0 -

I have a "Daily" which is no longer produced, but was the same spec as the Bamix, and is equally fab. It's nothing like the stick blenders which are available, as it's really a commercial tool, rather than a domestic one, if you see what I mean.
I use mine a lot, with the grinder I turn granualted sugar into castor sugar, which saves me buying 2 types of sugar, for example.
I wouldn't be without mine, but you must be aware of their power and be careful as you could loose a big chunk of finger very easily. I'd never let a child use it.0 -
Can anyone tell me about the Bamix blender?
Is the Gordon Ramsey one a good deal.
Is it really strong enough to chop ice/nuts etc.
Will it whip up milk to a creamy froth as seen on Idealworld TV?
Looks good on TV but quite expensive so await your replies.
Thanks:beer:0 -
I saw this at the food and drink fair last year and it is pretty impressive.
I would not spend the money for it though as it is so expensive.
You would need to have a use for it every time you cooked.
Would you really use this every day. I know i wouldn't. Officially Debt Free Nov 2012 :beer:0 -
I bought one from, I think, Lakeland a couple of years ago and I think its hopeless. It doesn't seem to whizz things (I have a much cheaper Braun stick which does that better) It doesn't seem to chop anything (a sharp knife is easier) and I can't seem to make the 'foam' things that other people can. I'm quite a good cook but I just couldn't get it to do anything I wanted it to. It lurks at the back of a drawer, never used !0
