  • When we moved i went to Game on our local high street and happened to ask if they had boxes. They informed me that all of the shops on the street empty their boxes on to one container around the corner and gave me the number of the guy in charge. We arranged to meet and he helped me fill my mpv and contacted him when i run out and went back for more. nice and easy! And he said i could take them back to him once we had moved if i wanted to. It got emptied by the council once a week.
  • i work for a pharmacy and always have loads of cardboard boxes going spare, we are always happy to pass them on (we like recycling)

Freecycle is worth a try, i always get rid of mine there
  • I would suggest trying your local McDonalds- their fries boxes are excellent and the staff are always happy to spare some.
We used loads of these when we moved house. They are strong and not so big that you overload them.
    Good luck

If you go to any supermarket and speak to the supervisor or manager of produce and ask for banana boxes, they will arrange for a time that you can come and collect them. They have many requests for these as they are strong with lids and handles. They can not keep them out the bag as they can become a fire risk, which is why they are broken down, which is why you have to arrange a time to collect them. I used nothing else when I moved and they were invaluable. Uniform size, sturdy for stacking. Good luck and let us know how you get on.
